My husband who is a native to the neighborhood introduced me to the Homy Inn. When I first walked in it struck me as very cozy (small!). You have no choice but be friendly to enjoy yourself, it has very little to do other than talk and drink, which is just as well since few people do that as much anymore. The bartenders are friendly and helpful- which is what a good bartender does in order to make a living and keep the customers returning. This bar is an ideal place to meet friends, drink beer (or your favorite beverage) and chat the night away. The Homy also gives off an aura of humilty and honesty of the neighborhood bar that is not stuck on being anything bigger or trying to be a "scene"- so many modern establishments have an identity crisis where it wants to evolve into a sports bar or a martini bar. The Homy's decor is interesting and unpretentious- the ceiling is covered in old restaurant menus and the tables have old sports collector cards on them. The decor was gathered and arranged over time rather than the Applebee's and Famous Dave's of the world: hastily gathered faux-antiques that were nail-gunned to the wall. I look forward to returning on our next special occasion to gather with friends and remember our history togther.

I love the peanuts that you get in the dog bowls, they also have a crack machine to play, a music box, golden tee, the sand bag game, and pickels. You can also champagne and asti on tap!!

She has crossed the line between honesty about her relationships and flirting like crazy to make tips. In the end, what is the difference between her and working at the Showgirl as a teasing, flirting dancer? Same difference; I think its a case where a gal doesnt like the fact she got hitched, doesnt like to display it and deceives people daily to pad her pockets. It's too bad because Terry and Sean are both decent gentlemen, and the Homy was a good neighborhood dive bar.

Jen is the night bartender that has been there for 6 years. She hustles and the service is good BUT she has this bad habit of flirting with 3/4 of the guys in there, is married, and refuses to wear a wedding band so that people may know she is married. Once I found that out recently, i find it to be somewhat despicable and would never ever consider returning to the Homy Inn.

Apparently, the guys who all replied Lousy for every column need to loosen up, or head back to their uppity martini bars. And to say it's in a rather bad part of Omaha? Come on. The Homy is an Omaha classic, and I've never had a bad time there. It's the most interesting place with the most interesting people, too. In a place that welcomes everyone, you probably stuck out like a sore thumb. Maybe it was the broom up...never mind

The Homy defies classification. It is a local bar with a very commendable tap selection, including asti spumante for the ladies who don't care for beer. I grew up in the area and have never been uncomfortable at the Homy. Also, excellent contemporary Italian food can be delivered from Sgt. Peffers across the street. This is a unique arrangement between two Omaha classics.

I was in there last week on a Friday during the day and had great service from a great guy bartender. But then the next bartender came in and boy was she an idiot! Very bad service and very bad professionalism. She was more interested in herself than helping the customers. I guess she has worked there a while. If that is the kind of people you have there at night we will not come back. Get more day bartenders for your night shifts on the weekends. overall great service during the day horrible at night.

The Homy Inn is the best kept secret in Omaha. It offers a truly unique atmosphere to chill out in. With plenty of interesting people coming and going.

Smoky air, ugly patrons, dim interior, peanuts in dog bowls. Strangely enough, one of the friendliest places you'll ever go. A true neighborhood bar experience.

The Homy Inn is a one of kind pub. My wife and I have been enjoying it for nearly 20 years. The staff is outstanding, the patrons eclectic, the decor interesting, and the quality of the beers is great. You won't find a better bar of its kind anywhere else in Omaha. If you haven't been to the Homy Inn, you're missing out!

You must visit The Homy! It's funky! It's cool! The decor is "eye-inspiring" to say the least. No kitchen, but there is a hot line to the Italian restaurant across the street (they deliver to the bar!) Must see!
