WOW! The hidden brewing gem of Atlanta. We happened on the brewery by chance and enjoyed the Monday happyhour tasting. Awesome college party atmosphere. I enjoyed the beer, esp. the IPA and Porter, the 420 was good, and the Blue was definitely different. Don't miss this place on Mondays or Thursdays!

By far the best Microbrewed beer in Atlanta. Tours are available at 4:20 on Mondays and Thursdays with a chance to sample the beers. 420 is an awesome pale ale, hence the silver medal at the GABF. IPA is very nice with a citrus bite. Seetwater Blue is nice light summerime beer with a blueberry flavor. If you can find it, their winter beer, Festive Ale is outstanding. A nice kick for the cold winter months. Overall, all beers are great and must try if your are in Atlanta

Finally some good news for the Georgia microbrewery scene. With some of the most restrictive and antiquated beer laws in the country (Georgia), Sweetwater was still able to win best small brewery and best small brewery brewmaster in the USA (the whole country!!) at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver this past October. Plus a Gold medal in the Brown Porter category for their Exodus Porter and a Silver medal in the Golden Ale category for their 420 Pale Ale. For all you Bud fans, it won a Silver medal in the American Style Lager category (Busch won the Gold!). I guess they needed to give them one medal category (out of 58) so they would continue to be the major festival money sponsor. It is still amazing to me that with 58 categories of beer to choose from, the overwhelming percentage of Americans still prefer American-Style Lager (the lowest common denominator). A pretty sad state of affairs – but slowly getting better.

Picked up everything I could in the bottles, quite a selection, IPA was my favorite, Blue was well done as was thekeg of 420 I brought home (gone now, neighbors fault). Edged out Dogwood slightly, but I would buy both.

420 is a great Atlanta beer. On par with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Friendly guys, but order their beer at a Taco Mac, the brewery itself is un-airconditioned, and in an office park, not scenic. Beers are great, try each one!

The 420 Pale Ale lacks any hop flavor. Basically a light beer. Add a little cascade hops to the mash!!

The 420 Ale is not very good and neither is the amber; however, the new IPA is very, very good.

I got to go to the brewery one Monday and gave them my helping hands. They were cool with me hanging out and bottling brew. The ale I had was the 420 extra pale. It, honestly, wasn't too good. They do brew a pretty good porter, though.
