I have been going to the Brick Store for years and know the owners and most of the employees. The beer selection is the best in the state, and this pub is fantastic. In response to the review below, NO one at the Brick Store would cheat anyone. If you love great beer, get to the Brick Store.

The Belgian Bar - Wow the selection! The ambience is perfect for the brew curious. The staff was so knowledgeable and outgoing. There is not another place like this in possibly the southeast. We tried 7 different Belgian brews and each was distinctly different. Some we picked ourselves and some we invited our bartender to pick. It was great. The most fun for me was ordering a selection of cheeses and matching them with the beers. Great artisan cheeses, just not enough. I hear these guys are opening a new spot in Grant Park with a more upscale food menu but with the same Belgian theme. I can't wait! Burgers are well good but these beers will shine with better food. Some were 750ml Champagne-style bottles, some draught and some 11.2oz bottles. Also, since someone's comment in 2002 about the low-alcohol deal, the laws have changed and most of the beers were in the 6-11% range but some ran up to 14.5%. It was my first time there and after being in the industry for quite some time it still holds true- if you want to go out to be seen then go out on the weekends. If you want to go out and get a great experience from a specific place, go on an off night. You'll be surrounded by better people and you'll get the proprietor's vision. An enjoyable, educational thrill. I'll be back soon. Bravo.

Best stop in my visit to Atlanta and nearby communities. Belgian bar had Au Bon Voeux (I probably massacred the name, but one of the best Belgian beers available in the US and very hard to find on tap). Come to think of it, after the Hokies loss in the Peach Bowl, this stop may have been the highlight of the entire trip.

We stayed until close once with a large group, and one of my friends was duped into paying an exhorbitant tab that was not his. After talking with the rest of the people from our group, the realization hit that the bartenders had put shots on his tab and made it $50 more than it should have been. I would not recommend this bar to anyone. The bartenders are looking for ways to cheat you it seems. I was shocked since I had been going there for years and liked the place. I will never go back, and I will tell anyone thinking of going there to not go there now.

An incredible beer selection. Their Belgium beer bar is an amazing addition. It feels like you are sitting in a Belgium beer cellar. Food is quite good but pretty basic.

I've been living in Atlanta for the past three years and have eaten at Brick Store several times. The food is flavorful, hearty, and diverse. The beer selection is the best I've seen in Atlanta thus far with several great Belgian Brews. An added bonus: Glasses that match your beers. My cup overfloweth.

I lived and worked in Decatur for three months last year, and pretty much every Friday my office-mates and I would head down to the Brick Store. The beer is fantastic, the people are great (be sure you meet Dave) and the food is pretty damn good, too. I miss the Brick Store for sure.

Quite possibly the best place for beer in Atlanta. The selection is wide and varied and note the availability of some brews that are not listed on the web site. Belgian beers are available here, but due to restrictions by Georgia General Assembly (boo, hiss!!!) no one in Georgia can sell high-quality, high-alcohol content beers. Do not fault the store for this.

This is a true pub. No TV's, no loud music. Its the kind of place where conversation rules, so if you're out on a date with someone who can't complete a sentence, this is probably not a good choice.

Just felt compelled to correct the review by Tom from Knoxville. Brick Store DOES carry Belgian Beers, LaTrappe and/or McChouffe are always on tap and they have many more botteld choices. As for the reviewer from Atlanta, funny how they wouldn't leave their name, must've had their dreams shattered by one of the pub's lovely staff. I've brought many visiting friends and business associtates to the Brick Store and they ALL love it.

Brickstore Pub, like all Georgia bars, DOES NOT carry Belgian or any other beers over 6% in alcohol. Only these southern states allow high-gravity brews: FL, KY, LA, TN, VA.

This was my second annual visit to Brick Store, as my company comes to Altanta every June for a trade show in nearby Atlanta. The atmosphere is great...very woody and reminds one of a British pub. The food is good..nice selection of better than average bar food, good pasta (surprisingly) and a good vegetarian selection. This is a neighborhood gathering spot in the heart of quaint DeCatur and it's always busy. They have a decent selection of drafts and more bottles. They carry the gamut--from Belgians to local Sweetwater to other microbrews from around the U.S. If you're in DeCatur, I highly recommend this place.

Decatur's best neighborhood gathering place. Many micorbrews and imports on tap, no Budweiser or Miller here. Emphasis on good food and friendly conversation, no tv's, no neon.
