I'm from Boston and there aren't many good outdoor bars/eateries up here like Shooters(in Providence there's a Bootleggers) Food and service is better in Boston, but no places to dock a boat, sit next to the water and enjoy grub and a brew. Shooters' mixed drinks are excellent- especially the rumrunners. Shooters bikini contests are awesome! Too wild for uptight New Englanders.

I would have to agree with some of the other comments. As a local, I enjoy this watering hole, more for the scenery than the beer selection. A Guiness or Bass is about the best you can do. Dining on the water IS a big plus though!

Perhaps it is unfair to compare this place to pubs in other parts of the country. It is the best I found in the Fort Lauderdale area. That, however, says precious little. The setting is nice, and the waitress tried her best - but she just didn't have much to work with. When I asked her what was on tap, she said "just about anything you could want." When I asked for Harpoon IPA, then Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, that's where the trouble started. They have a dozen or so taps, but little imagination: Bud clones, international macros (Harp, Bass, Foster's, Kirin), and - the one ray of light - Sam Adams Winter Lager. She also offered "Hurricane Reef" and "Blackbeard Ale", which got my hopes up. I ordered one of each, only to have her come back to report that they no longer carry either. I settled for the Sammy (and to the bar's credit, they gave me the second one free as apology for the disappointment), which was too cold but otherwise drinkable. The food was also a disappointment. If you are in Fort Lauderdale and want a beer - go to Miami.

A nice place on the Intracoastal Waterway, with dockside seating. The food is passable and the beer is cold.
