Went on a 9 brewpub crawl in SW Michigan and my favorite was New Holland. The beers were excellent with a wide variety to choose from. They had some wonderful experimental brews like Dries something, I can't remember the name, and some of the standards like the Mad Hatter IPA which were flavorful and hoppy and so very fresh. The 2 bartenders were knowledgeable and very friendly and like to discuss beers. They had no ego like so many behind the bar. Go there for the well crafted, great tasting beers and everything else is just a bonus. There are beers for all tastes! By the way, it's located in a great shopping area, so take your wife or girlfriend, let her shop while you drink, you both win!

There were 11 on tap the day I arrived, plus some in-house ciders. All were good to above average, with the Mad Hatter, Red Tulip and Poet (stout) as my favorites. It's a former hardware store with lots of character, lofts, skylights. Along with Via Maria (few streets down), this makes Holland a must-stop for beer-lovers.

Maybe it was just the current selection, but the three we tried were so so.

I am totally surprised and impressed by this place. Holland, Michigan and Beer are not two things you would associate with each other, but this place is a real find. I tried all of the beers, brewer on premise (Jacob, I think) answered all of my questions. Very knowledgeable about the Mid-west beer scene. Enjoyable time was had by all. I can't wait for my next trip back to Holland. Nicely done!

Nitrogen Filled IPA was very smooth but not as hoppy as I expected. Can't wait break into the growler of the regular IPA. The sample tasted pretty good!! AND What a fun place!! Blues music, good beer, and people smiling. Oh yeah, pretty good beer. Don't miss this one if you are headed up the west coast of MI. I had a good time.

I've only been to the brewery once, but I stayed until I tried every beer--all I can say is that they are all "bright" if not outstanding. This is a place worth making a yearly (weekly?) pilgrimage to...

Yet another in the many superior places in Western Michigan. Think Bell's or Arcadia quality, and this is the place! Worth the drive down from Grand Rapids for some of Michigan's best beer.

Well I have now been a member for almost 2 years, and this is still the only place to be. The owners are great at keeping things fresh and fun. I can not say enough about how much I appreciate having the best brewery I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying right here in Holland. I hope that everyone gets a chance to see exactly what I am talking about for yourselves. No review would be complete without my favorite brew. There is something special about each and every one of them, but the one that stands out for me the most often is the "Island Amber". It is a brew that nicely blends the hops into a full bodied beer that has a very smooth finish.

Nice place. Kind of a garage type building. Normaly 10 to 12 beers on tap. They have a lite food menu with good food. all of the beers are well hopped. They have won several medals for the Old Poet Oatmeal Stout and for MadHatter Ale. Don't miss this place.

I have been going to this place since they have opened. I knew right away that the beer that was being developed in this place had great character. I have seen this place go from a small home town brewery to a place where every body is talking about. The beer is wonderful especilly the Mad Hatter and the menu is created by a cook with a lot of creativity.

I have been here twice now in the past six months and think this place makes my top 5. Mad Hatter IPA is spectacular (if you're a hophead.) Spouse loves Island Amber which is also quite hoppy. Stout, Organic Brown Ale, Cabin Fever, everything else tried was superb. I don't agree that the food is sub-par: although menu is limited, pizza is superior. Spent-grain crust, gourmet options like artichoke hearts, gorgonzola, sun dried tomatoes. Cozy, old freight depot-or-something atmosphere with no smoking indoors. Note: not open on Sundays because the local alcohol laws allow liquor to be served on Sundays, but not beer or wine! Yikes! The beer-loving natives need to rebel, maybe catch the others off-guard on Sunday when they're stoned on martinis.

This is a very nice brewpub. They have a wide variety of styles, and of the 6 I tasted, they were all good to very good. Food was below average for a brewpub, but the beer more than makes up for it.

I have been a member for about a month now. I love the place. The cabin fever beer is awesome. They keep the selection fresh by always trying new seasonal brews. This is my place that I can go every night and be happy. Also the food is comming along nicely. Feel welcome to stop by and play a game of pool.

This is a microbrewery that is evolving into a brew pub. They are building a kitchen now. All beers are excellent, the Mad Hatter, an IPA, is lip smacking. The Courage, a dark ale/porter is titilating. Their pumpkin beer is excellent too. These guys really know how to use hops, and lots of them too. Two dogs live there, Hops and Dunkel. They have beer to go too. Go there!

The beers here were very good. Not much of a place, but it still attracts a lot of scenery. For a beer fan, go here and don't bother with the other one in town (Back Street).

The brew pub is kind of a dump, which I don't mind at all. I think it's because they spend all their time and money on brewing excellent beer. Nice label artwork too.

When I arrived at New Holland, it had not yet opened for the day; luckily for me, the owner saw me banging on the door and let me in. It is my pleasure to say that the beer here is great.
