Bryce has done it again...after taking some time for brewmaster school in Germany, he has reopened the doors. The quality, consistency, and pride of the beer is incomparable. Try a "Blacksburger Pils" at any bar in downtown Blacksburg, VA and keep an eye out for a season coming winter 2009/2010.

Just got an e-mail from John Bryce that Blacksburg Brewing is closing as of May 15. He plans to re-open as a brewpub, no time-line given. Hope he does it soon, because this beer was excellent.

Look, you don't want to visit. This is a small, start-up brewery, there's not really a lot to see, and it's hard to find, to be honest. Do yourself a favor: instead, go to The Cellar or Rivermill Map Co. in Blacksburg, and DRINK the beer. John Bryce is brewing some excellent beers in his little brewery, and I hope he continues to do so, and succeed with it. I'd recommend one or another, but he tends to make what he feels like making, so...who know what might be on tap! The Dragontooth RyePA I had was outstanding.
