I've been here many a'time. Luckily I get out of work early and can score a parking spot on the road, otherwise it can get hairy.
There are a good amount of taps, and a great selection of bottles. I won't even begin to list what they have and what I've tasted- I don't think there's enough room.
My favorites are the belgians. But the $3 pints of strongbow cider will get you where you need to be for pretty cheap.
The food is good. Last time it was so salty, I must have drank a gallon of water when I got home. But at least it tasted great and they tried pretty hard on the presentation.
The atmosphere is cozy and the people are friendly. I've struck up conversations with all sorts of people there- and that's not usually my style. There's just something about the Half Door that makes you feel at home- despite its surroundings.

Went there several times over the last few months. The beer selection is excellent with many bottle and tap selections. The best part is that they have beer that is not the same as everywhere else. Chimay was on tap and it was terrific. Nice dart tavern feel and is an excellent place in general. I try and go to these types of places when the crowds are thin so I can experience the place without fighting the weekend and happy hour crowds, The Half Door is one of the best places in Hartford. Cheers! See my photo of the Chimay I had, it'll make you wanna go the The Half Door right now!

It's Aecht Schlenkerla - and there are 3 Rauchbiers - the Weizen being very different from the Urbock & Marzen. Which one did you have? I dig 'em all.
Cheers!

Every time I'm passing through, I make an effort to stop by. Great beer selection. I highly recommend trying "Aecht Gehlenferla Rauchbier". It was great, one of the most different beers I have ever tried. It was in bottle, but a rare import. Tasted like liquid smoke.
Food is great, service is great, nice looking waitresses. Has real warm feel to it. I'm told they sometimes have music there, but I can't imagine where.
The only problem is location. A real pain to park, and if you go two blocks away, your car better be worth under 10k.

Nice little place, was there for Sunday breakfast/Brunch. Definately had the feel of a traditional pub, with families present. all we needed was a lazy dog laying under foot. The breakfast spread was wonderful, a mix of traditional Irish and American. Nice beer selection. The neighborhood left a little something to be desired, but on a Sunday morning it was fine.

Very nice little place. I liked the atmosphere and so did the wife. Comfortable and not to shiney. Friendly staff willing to answer questions. It seemed that everyone working took a turn at waiting our table. I overheard that they were short 2 waitresses the night we were there. Very extensive beer list that only suffered from one main weakness....no american craft brews, but also I did not see Bud-slop on the menu Coors and Miller were represented. I had a great Sniender Wiess on draft and the wife really enjoyed her Ephemere Draft. The food was great. I tryed the Cheddar Ale soup as had been suggested by a BA. It was great, deffinitely a hearty pub soup. The only other thing that was a problem is in their present location parking is next to nonexistant. Lastly something the waiter said about thier cask line botherd me " no cask in the warm months because it goes bad and the distributer won't carry any because of the spoilage.

Fantastic beer selection. Food was very good and so was service. Great Irish Pub ambiance. Only negative is lack of convenient parking, but don't let that disuade you...
