Came over from Michigan on the Lake Express and spent 9 days in and around Milwaukee visiting with my friend Dale. Together we hit a few of the bars in Milwaukee and I must say that Hooligans was a good time. Great selection of beers on tap and the food was great.My only complaint would be the grouchy old bartender behind the bar the day we visited. If you sat outside or at a table you wouldn't even know there was a problem.If I owned this bar this guy would be gone.Other than that its worth the trip.

one of the best beer selections in milwaukee, food reliable too. If you hate cigarette smoke you should avoid this bar, other than that this corner tap is great

Not sure why anyone would ever give this place a "lousy" rating for any category. If I had to guess, I'd say that most of these reviews were from the same person or someone reviewed the wrong place. Even if you had a terrible time (which I never have), how do you rate thirty-some quality taps as lousy? Maybe someone tried to pick up a waitress and got shot down--I don't know. I can tell you that this is easily the best sports bar in Milwaukee. Don't let the reviews of a few fool you.

Great selection and great food, at not always so great prices. But that's ok, it's worth it to stay for a bit. They have TV-trivia games too for free. A good place to piss an afternoon away.

This is what a sports bar should be. Plenty of televisions without the sterile canned atmosphere that so many sports bars seem to have. The glory of it all is that Hooligan's is also Milwaukee's best beer bar. They always have an excellent selection of local and regional taps, including Lakefront cask-conditioned ale. If you're in the area, stop here, Von Trier's across the street, and Onopa Brewing up in the Riverwest area.
