The worst service. I should not have to go to the bar and ask for a beer after asking my WAITER twice and waiting about 20 minutes. And then get an attitude for the bother. yuk lose the art boys please.

for some reason my girlfriend and i have kept coming back here for about 2 years and we don't know why. the service is definately one of the worst on philadelphia. there always seems to be only one server working and they can not handle the place at all, we can only get 1 to 2 beers because they are never refilled. it's a shame, the food and beer are great, but seriously, put your staff on some fucking speed or something, it's just not hip. really.

Just had a very disappointing dinner at Abbaye, and I don't get it. Five of us went, four ordered sandwiches, one got fish and chips. The dinners took over 40 minutes to arrive, and every one of the five orders of frites was cold, as was my oyster po' boy and my wife's grilled zucchini sandwich. I told the waitress immediately about the frites, and she (rather unconcernedly) offered fresh orders. Those did come out, rather quickly, and were excellent, the main reason the food rating is as high as it is. Happily, the beer was great (Bluebird Bitter and Yards ESA), but we were only asked once in an hour if we wanted another; my glass had been sitting empty for almost half an hour. What the hell happened to this wonderful place that I recommended to so many people? I'm hoping this is an aberration, but...the waitress was the same one we had at the excellent dinner I reviewed below. Not a good sign. With luck, things will improve.

I'll second Lew's comments. Hopefully they'll get their license back very soon before financial harm is done to the business. I was there several times before it was BYOB and the Belgian selection on tap was great (they also had a few English beers, a Victory and a Yards). The bottled selection was also a winner. The fish & chips was a HUGE portion of crispy fish, servied with frites and a good portion of a baby green salad - all for about $9.00. If you're a fan - stop by and have some dinner there - it was deserted last night and I'd love to see this place survive this mini-crisis.

The Abbaye is currently BYOB due to a screwup by the former owners of their license. But this is still a great place to go: the food we had was tremendous. Fancy (cheese-stuffed roasted figs wrapped in apple-smoked bacon) or plain (a honking big portion of halibut in fish and chips), this food is delicious, and the service is great. Call ahead to see if they're serving yet, but GO!

The Abbaye was a nice stop for us. Enjoyed the atmosphere. I will have to concur with the previous post on the pulled pork sandwich! It was definately yummy! The beers on tap were tasty and resonably priced!
