A few of us went out after work to have a few drinks & appetizers. After about an hour of listening to Dolly Parton and other 'great' song selections playing, we asked the waiter if the jukebox was working and he said 'yes, please use it'. Well, one of us walks over and spends $5 to mix up the music in the place (mind you, there MAY be 20 customers in there at the time). 2 songs into the selections, the manager walks over and says he is receiving complaints and will need to refund the money, walks away and turns back on the elevator music.
First of all, there was no one complaining. Apparently the music (a song by Beyonce was playing) sounded too much like rap to him, and he was scared to let it play for the miniature crowd that was there. He even said he needed to 'create a certain type of environment'. If you can imagine, this is offensive and he just kept continuing to put his feet in his mouth with the more he said.
If you want to have food that is never good and spend your money in a place where the music must be of a 'certain kind' (even though there is a wide selection of music on the jukebox that apparently they just hope you won't play), then please go here. Otherwise, there are plenty of BETTER places in Jax to relax and enjoy yourself.
*I chose 'so-so' as the service response because we did have a very nice waiter who did a great job. He even apologized for the music mishap and offered to use his own money to replace the $5 spent. Aside from that, there was a waitress there who instead of getting our drinks, went and dragged our waiter away from some trainees and had him get the drinks, and the manager is a weak little boy who instead of finding a compromise, went straight to one person and killed the mood of the whole place. Hopefully he won't be there long if that place is to survive.
