Stopped by on a busy July Saturday for lunch, and was glad that my brother was driving. Service was okay, and the sandwiches were fine, better than expected from a brewpub. Started with Sun Dog amber, which was crisp & light, a good starter. Dessert was the Poet porter, which I've enjoyed in a bottle and was even better on tap: deep, rich, satisfying. Would like to try the Irish pub across the street, but have no problem recommending this excellent restaurant.

Stopped by on my way through Michigan and it's great craft beer scene. Tried a few beers new to me this trip. Rauch Hatter was smoked ala Schlenklera--not my favorite style, but well-crafted and enjoyable. I was eager to taste their oak aged offerings. The Mad Hatter on oak was unique; oak and hops merged nicely, it was drinkable but you wanted to savor it as well. What to do? The Dragon's Milk on oak was the best of the lot this day. The strong ale was very well suited to the oak treatment, definitely one not to be rushed. New Holland continues to make very nice beers.

This is my current preferred meeting and drinking place on the west of the state. The beers are always good and once again the Black Tulip is phenomenal for its type (Belgian Tripel). Don't really know too much about the food because I always stick to the pizzas which are the second best in the state (after Arcadia, Battle Creek). Mad Hatter matured in oak was well beyond awesome and something I never thought I would find - a fantastic beer getting even better. The place is nearly always busy every time I go nowadays which has to be good for their business. Do not miss this place!

New Holland is an interesting brewery in an interesting town. Some friends of mine and I on a brewery road trip stopped by for dinner and some beer. This probably shocks no one but the dragon's milk is unbelievable! Also beyond perfect is the oak aged Mad Hatter, a stronger version of their IPA. I tried an amber ale named Cabin Fever which I enjoyed, which is awesome because I normally do not like Amber's, basically the only bad beer is the krolsch, which is god-awful, but still it's a minor complaint. Becky is a wonderful server with a great sense of humor, the Pizza is UNBELIEVABLE! Definetly would like to come back, maybe some time when it's not busy.

We visited this brewpub on a vacation and found the beer to be outstanding. Mad Hatter IPA, Sun Dog Amber, Zoomer Wit and the Red Tulip deep ruby red was my favorites of the sampler. They had numerous others but I still had to drive home. The Ichabod Crane wasn't my type but I'm sure it would be a favorite of many others. The Pizza is top notched and I will be buying their beers in six packs as well as visiting again, whenever I can. If you are on the west side of the state, be sure to visit, you will not be dissappointed!

My second visit, decided to try those on tap which I hadn't had before. 12+ taps is very impressive to be sure. Wes' Pub Ale was Boddington-ish, slightly sweet. Black Hatter was nice with a slight fruitiness upfront. Imperial Stout was the pick this trip--vanilla hints, smooth, wish I would have had time for more! Also had Macatawa Dark, Sock Knocker and the Imperial Hatter, all of which I enjoyed. Tried the Italian salad; a real taste treat. Definitely get to Holland and try both brewpubs!

My wife and I stopped by on the first of a three pub tour. I tried the "Specialty Beers" sampler and loved them all. They also offer a regular menu sampler which I did not try as I have had those beers before and enjoyed them. The food we had was great. I highly suggest a stop.

This place is AWESOME! Everything about my visit exceeded all expectations. The Mad Hatter IPA was bursting with freshness and floral hoppiness. They had beers not available to me at home. One in particular was called "Days of Wrath", fermented with Chardonnay yeast, unique and delicious. Dragon's Milk is one of the High Gravity series. It is an oak aged strong ale, very good. They also had an amber ale, whose name eludes me, that was slightly hoppy and not just a sweet amber like everyone else makes. The bartenders were very friendly, and helpful with specific info on their beers. The icing on the cake was an excellent lunch.

Wow, what a change from the tap room they had on Fairbanks. This is one happening place with 12 + different drafts. I wish I had more time to do the sampler platter.

I wonder where all the older reviews went? Anyway, last October was the first time I had the chance for a lengthy visit here since they moved into their fancy new downtown digs. The beer is still excellent (Mad Hatter -- yum!) but they have stopped making the Island Amber which was my wife's favorite beer (unusually hoppy for an amber). The pizza is still very good, but the new venue has brought a change in attitude. In the old warehouse things were friendly and funky. In the glitzy new spot, the staff acts quite snobby, maybe to go with, or in reaction to, what appears to be a different clientele. The hostess was so openly rude when we told her we didn't like the table she tried to put us at that we almost left. If I lived in the area, it is unfortunate that the staff would make me think twice about being a regular--I didn't used to feel that way about NHBC.

Nice upscale establishment. You pay a little more, but you get a lot more. Ciders were excellent and the food was great as well.

The beer selection, quality, and food are all great. The Mad Hatter ale is excellent, extremely hoppy. They also make a variety of ciders, but didn't try them. The bar takes a little getting used to, as it's higher than most, making me feel like I shrunk! Going on the Saturday after Thanksgiving was probably a bad idea. All the out-of-towners with their Hummers and Escalades made this beer traveler feel out of place. But I definitely plan to return.

This is definetly the local beer hangout in holland for anyone with a taste outside a bud light. Great seasonal beer selections including their own flavored ciders, and I would argue their pale ale (paleooza) is the best Ive ever tried. Great place to catch some local music on mon and thurs also.

This is an outstanding brewpub. The Paleooza Pale Ale is a great pale ale - quite hoppy and well balanced. The Mad Hatter IPA is equally awesome. Lip smacking hoppy. I brought a case of each back to Atlanta with me I liked it so much.

I am renovating an antique beer refridgerator, for the rugby club in Sarasota FLA, and I was wondering if you would send me some of your beer labels. I am going to decoupage the entire thing in beer labels. My address is 2135 Tall Oak Court, Sarasota Fla, 34232.
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Carrie
