Visited TangleTown on a Saturday afternoon and the place was dead. Guess the locals were home watching the U.of Wash./Notre Dame game. Judging by the neighborhood and the decor, this is more upscale than the Elysian Capitol Hill brewpub. Lots of beers to choose from. Twelve house brews(four were pumpkin based) and a full bar. Went through a pint each of The Wise ESB, Artemus IPA and the Dark of the Moon Pumpkin Stout. All were excellent. The stout was`a little more stout than pumpkin which works for me. Small menu but the Reuben I had was tasty. Could have used a couple more slices of meat but the fries made up for that. Quite a ways from d'town Seattle but worth the visit. For carless tourists like me, you can jump on the #16 bus at the Ferry Bldg. or by the Space Needle. Drops you off right across the street. The Capitol Hill place is closer and their newest brewpub, Elysian Fields, is right across the street from QWest Field.

Place is a litte hard to find but the Beer is Awesome. Dick Cantwell is the "Godfather" of Seattle Brewers.

Great atmosphere and amazing service. My family and I were the only ones there at 11:30 in the morning, but they were ready to go. The Irish stout and Dragonstooth were great beers and the food was outstanding as well. Looking forward to returning to Seattle to come back to TangleTown and the Elysian!

Went to Washington state this summer for a brew cruise. This was by far my favorite brewpub. Can't comment on food, didn't eat, however it looked excellent. Great selection of brews, had an pale and Saison, both were outstanding. Tried a sample of their Jasmine IPA which was very good. I highly recommend this pub.

What a fun place. I had been to several pubs before I got there so--in reality it may not be quite as much fun as I remember but I encourage everyone to go. The horseradish wings were really great. With a name like Satan Stout, I couldn't let that one pass--unfortunatly it was sweet--which I couldn't figure with a name like "satan." Imortal IPA was truly great. The Perseus Porter was probably my favorite. It was a bit heavy--maybe too heavy for most but I really liked it.

Not as funky as it's Capitol Hill sister but still a very nice place in a quiet neighborhood just up from Green Lake. Beers are always great.

As a local of Tangletown I have had the opportunity to try many beers that they have brewed. The first beer to actually be brewed at this location, the Poison Dwarf Scottish Ale, was incredible. The Elysian Fields, Bette Blanch and Avitar Jasmine IPA are newer beers that are amazing and stand alone on their own. I was never much of an IPA fan until I started drinking theirs and some of the cask conditioned IPA and ESB that they have produced. Food is amazing but doesn't change all that often so as a first time visitor all will be amazing. Try the wings, they are like none you have ever had. Service is great during the week and gets better even on weekends. No AC so stay away on hot days.

A great addition to Wallingford and Green Lake. Nice local atmosphere, big and roomy and very family-friendly (and non-smoking). Was a bit noisy when it opened (due to the music being very loud), but I think it's become acclimated to the neighborhood it's in, and is much pleasanter for it.

The beer is EXCELLENT. The Elysian brews are great; and if you get tired of those, there are some great imports, particularly Belgian ones, on tap. The food is very good -- excellent sandwiches and burgers, great fries, and a couple of good and interesting entrees if you want a full-fledged meal. Oh, and the soups have been very good. (Good brunch as well on the weekends -- nothing like a great omlette accompanied by a Chimay! :) )

Service has been somewhat uneven; some friends had a terrible experience on a weekend when they opened, but they were somewhat understaffed then. My own experiences have ranged from absolutely great (nice waitress and staff) to somewhat inattentive in the off-hours, when the bartender has been the only waiter in the place. But in the evenings these days, it's absolutely fine.

Currently my favorite pub in Seattle (though some of that is because I live within walking distance of it, I'm sure.)
