Very happy with our stop. Six house beers and four seasonals on tap. I'm not a huge fan of fruit flavored seasonals but the apricot beer didn't have that huge fruit aftertase that is sometimes added to make sure you know it was a fruit beer. The light with a slightly fruity taste was quite refreshing. My favorites were the red (very nice malty finish) and the Imperial IPA. We went with lighter food for lunch and the 1/2 chicken sandwich was excellent. The brisket had a nice smoke flavor but the chicken was far better in my opinion.

Beer is wonderful, with a massive selection. Can't beat the beer! The food was OK, not bad, but not outstsnding, like many brewpubs. It was, of course, NYC pricing and it was a fair price for what was ordered, but it just didn't leap off the plate. Waitress was good at first but she did get a little behind after we got our food.
I would go back for the beer, not for the food. The ambiance is also wonderful as previously mentioned.

This branch of a growing brewery chain in NYC is a great location for a break from touring Lower Manhattan's historical sights situated next to the South Seaport with its maritime museum and walking distance to both the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and pedestrian access to the Brooklyn Bridge! Now to the main point! The oatmeal stout was the best I have ever tasted! Every swallow added to the depth of flavor and it held its head right down to the last sip! I would go out of my way to visit there again!

Average beers, decent place in a nice location. Tried the red and ipa, both were decent, although hardly world class. The bartender was friendly enough, and recommended a nice place to eat in the area. (Carmines).Didnt try the food at Heartland. the decore is rather hodge-podge, but inviting enough. Worth stopping at if you are at the South Street Seaport, but not worth going out of your way for.

The menu and beers on tap are the same as all the Heartlands...but the location at the Seaport is the coolest among all the others. Yes, it is a touristy place, but that is fine. The Smiling Pumpkin seasonal was awesome. Indian River Light is always a good choice as well. The mini cheeseburgers with grilled onions is a must for anyone craving good bar type food to accompany their beers. I hear they are opening a new location in the Empire State Bulding and that is okay, but how about some other brewpubs (non-Heartland, that is) opening up in NYC?

Despite this location--smack dab in the middle of tourist haven (like the times square location) the service, atmosphere, food, and beer were all great! (You won't find that at the Times Square location--ok, the beer is good there) Since all Heartland Brewery beer is now contract brewed in Brooklyn, you can expect consistency in the brew from one location to the other--the other three may vary. I visited on 7/20 and was pleased to get out of the tourist traffic as well as the heat and humidity. On tap were Red Rooster Ale, Harvest Wheat, Farmer Jon's Oatmeal Stout, Indiana Pale Ale, and Corn Husker Lager. This location has less space than the other three but more outdoor seating than Union Square. My bartender was great. Before she went outside to have a smoke (thank God for the NY smoking law) she asked everyone at the bar if they needed a refill before she stepped out. I have never had this happen before. In fact in many places, the bartender spent more time outside smoking than dealing with customers. So, she won a lot of bonus points with me. My food was great and as always--the Farmer Jon's Oatmeal Stout was just great! This is a great respite from Southstreet. Stop in!

It was a great place to relax from the crowd Seaport. The IPA is fabulous and the food was better than expected.
