Overall I was a little bit disappointed with the Lizard, maybe I was expecting too much from the good reviews I had heard. The beer selection is awesome, with 10-15 draft selections I haven't seen around Columbus. In additon they have another 75+ choices of bottled beers, and have raised the bar in Columbus for beer drinking options. What left me cold was the overall sterile feel, maybe leftover from the spaces previous life as a Dick Clark's American Bandstand. A hostess greets you and leads you to one of the tables neatly arranged in rows in the clean, well lit bar area. The joint just didn't have any real bar character. I'm sure this is nit-picking, because the quality & selection of beers should appease any beerophile. The draft selection alone offers a diverse range of beer styles, including several wheat, pale ale, & Oktoberfest choices, plus $1 off any draft during happy hour. My one other complaint is charging $10 to join a club to buy & drink their beer, but maybe I missed some perks that went with the membership. The place is pretty new so maybe it will develop more character in time, and in the meantime I would still recommend making this a destination to try out some different brews.
