Usually try to get irish pubs off of pubcrawler, as they tend to just carry those irish pub beers...well this isnt your typical irish pub....although it looks like one, plenty of wood and stone....besides the standard irish imports, of the 24 taps, no less than 11 are dedicated to micro/craft brews...and many from the region, 1 from another brewpub in town (sockey daggerfalls ipa). food, just great..was in the mood for irish stew and it did not disappoint, first time that i had to cut the lamb in a stew with a knife...chunks so big couldnt just put into mouth...local bands play...and this place is big enough to accommodate a crowd downtown

I lived in Boise for two years (moved last August '03) and Ha'Penny was my go-to pub. I chose the Deschutes Brewery choices, but they have a great selection. The food was excellent - their corned beef and cabbage is still the best I've eaten. The service was always top-notch, games were on TV, live music on weekends. What more could you ask for? I miss it - there's nothing I've found in New Mexico or Phoenix Valley that compares!
