Call to confirm the operating hours as they have a summer schedule different than the website list. It was nice of the employee to let me in to buy a six pack on a day they were nominally closed. This place is a mix of BOP and small brewery. It's a bit cluttered to be a proper pub. The house beers can be good, particularly the strong styles in their premium lineup. Imperial Stout, Scottish Shilling, and Belgian Trippel were all passable.

Free tastings help you decide which tap you want filling your growler or pig. Friday nights at "Brewgrass", there's a live bluegrass band as well. Fun place to be with a laid back atmosphere. If you haven't been and are in the area, you have to try it!

Travis and Greg are the best! They have what I consider to be a very extensive list of beers you can make, and they make brewing fun.

Queen City is a Brew On Premise (BOP) that opened around October of 2003.
Travis Smithdeal and his partner opened Queen City Brewing to let other people brew beer. Queen City is a BOP; a lot of people in the Shenandoah Valley used to brew at Monticello, in Charlottesville. Kevin Yeadon, who owned Monticello and had to get out for health reasons, helped these guys with recipes and advice, and they've hit the ground running. They're aiming for a commercial license in a few months and hope to be selling beer in the area. Look for them!
