Eventhough Eric is a Yankee and Brian is an angry Scottish man they always make ya feel like yur at ya mama's house. Not many bars embody the true multicultural comfortable feeling Club Decatur delivers. It is truly old school N.O. Heavy pours and great conversation. I am a native and F.Q. slave since I was 17. I drank after, before, in between work at Club D then and found my way back again. Luv Always A loyal customer

8-9-06,8-10-06,8-11-06 We kept going back to the best bottle beer bar in-near the Quarter. Lee & Eric knowledgable, friendly, helpful. We were made to feel at home. Great bottle selection including some new and different. Yes, its a French Quarter bar. Three stools to my left a small gray terrior was sitting on his stool drinking, presumeably water. This is definately your FIRST stop if you are looking for a different bottle of good beer.

I love Club Decatur! After chasing good beer all over New Orleans during the 90's (there wasn't much), my friends and I discovered Club Decatur during our Millennium New Year's decadence festival - best selection in the French Quarter, very fair prices, and an accomodating waitstaff. There's definitely an element of seedy New Orleans - you'll see the occasional drug dealer or gutter punk, but that comes with the turf in any locals place around Decatur. We've nicknamed this bar "the center of the universe," because if you drink there long enough, just about everyone you know who's in town will walk by - try it during Jazzfest and you'll see what I mean!

We stopped in here at about 10pm on a Friday nite and the place was dead. It's kind of on the fringe of the quarter and it was a chilly April nite, so maybe that had something to do with it. It seemed more of a locals place than a tourist hangout (good!). They have a good selection of draft beer and a GREAT selection of bottled beer. I think they said 200 bottles. Plenty to choose from, including some good Belgian selections. I would be careful about the age on some of these. The turnover might not be too high. I ordered a Caracole Nostradamus, relatively rare in these parts. It was past the best before date on the bottle but was still good. The alcohol strength helped, I'm sure. They had pizza but we didn't try any. Not much on atmosphere but great on beer selection! I would go back anytime for a few beers instead of the bad 3 for 1 crap beer and cheap hurricanes (headache-canes) that are ubiquitous in the quarter.

This place still needs a review so I'm going to try and give it one. It's become my 2nd favorite non-Bourbon street bar. It's the kind of place that waiters and such working in the quarter go to after work. It's not too expensive and it had a good selection on tap. I've heard they have good pizza but when I was there after midnight they just had some under heat lights. There's not a lot of table seating. Mostly a long bar, some tables and a pool table in the back. I sat near the taps but not near the beer cooler so I don't know how many brands they carry in bottles. I also remember the urinal being clogged and not draining. But I still like the place. It's just what I was looking for, an inexpensive bar with a good beer selection. Just don't expect too much from it.
