Nice Irish and British beers (including Smithwick's, a personal favorite). Food is mostly basic bar food, but the rosat beef sandwiches and the carrot cake are devine. Avoid the bangers and mash. The cafe is conveniently located across from Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. So you can enjoy a cricket or football (soccer) match on a Sunday afternoon and stop by Gilbert's for a pint.
