Lousy So So N/A Lousy So So
Mel’s closed. Smoky place, poorly managed at times, mediocre unmotivated staff, even though it was on Water Street, the place never seemed clean.

As far as beers, I’m a fan of Budweiser products. The had the standard Miller line, Pabst, Blatz, a few Bud products, a couple of micros in cans & bottles. The beer on tap was always warm and a bit skunky. Made buying in bottles a lot easier-across the street.

The good side, when my fiancé stopped going there, he met me.

I was there Thursday. As usual there was a nice crowd. The bartender is still a goddess and that was before I even had a beer. If I was only young.

So So So So So So Lousy Lousy
ok...here's the deal, my best friend bought 5 beers from the girl at the front door. 3 opened and 2 unopened for his girlfriend and her friend. He pulled the beers from his pocket and was kicked out. I went to ask the beer "wench" about the beers and she would not answer me, I was forced from the bar for asking the girl questions about selling my buddy beers. I am very passive and did not threaten or even touch the girl, I just asked her a question and i was man-handled and thrown out of the bar. stay away from this bar...we weren't the only ones assaulted that night from the bouncers at Mel's for no reason...i talked to several other people that were assaulted tonight...July 19th, 2003...don't go to this bar,

Good Good Good Good Awesome!
It's not the beer, or the food, or the service so much..... it's the atmosphere. Mels is the place to end your night. You haven't had beer in the beer capital of the world, until you've closed down Mel's.
