This place closed and reopened under a new name. They should not have bothered.
The beer was not good. I tried all 6 that they had, and they all tasted the same - like yeast! It's all you could taste, from light to dark? It took a couple of hours for the taste to leave my tastebuds.
The food was ok, but nothing special, especially for the price $$$.

The Lucky Spur marquee read, "Stews under new management. Watch for opening date soon." Just an FYI for those in the area or passing thru.

I will never visit Stew's and give them a penny of my money! Each time I ate their I ended up feeling very ill in the evening. At first I just thought it was a coincidence but now I definitely know it's not!! I didn't want to cause a problem so I checked around with others that ate there and even quietly mentioned something to the staff. They were very RUDE and jerks about the whole situation. I felt bad that they thought I was making up a story. I was so violently ill that I ended up contacting the Health Dept. and guess what? They did an inspection and found: Filth/FECES FROM RODENTS IN THE BARLEY AND FOOD AND IN THE KITCHEN/BAR ETC.. STEW'S OWE'S ME AN APOLOGY!!!This is the truth and it was printed in the Nevada Appeal. I hope they comply and clean & disinfect the place before anyone else becomes violently ill.

Some friends and I went to Stew's to watch an NFL playoff game and try some of thier beers, and WOW, what killer beers they brew. the big TV must have been 100"=120". We tried a sampler of thier beers and it came in this copper holder that was really different and looked very cool. we sharred a "governers platter" and what an appitizer. the staff was cool and fun to talk with. I was suprized that there was a table for us but the place is good sized. I can't wait till Super Bowl sunday, We will be returning as mucn as possible.
Thanks to the owners of Stew's for opening something that is so rich in class, style, and fun.

I have been there for lunch and the service and food was great. The menu has so many great choices that it was very hard to choose. When I did make a choice the food was great and it was served hot. The server was very friendly and came at various times through out the time we were there to check and see if everything was okay. I had my drink refilled twice and done without asking! I am from out of town but will definately put it on my "to visit" list whenever I go to Carson City, it is well worth it. The layout of the resturant is well planned out and the TV's in the bar area are wonderful. All I can say is that it is a great place for food, beer, and friendly servers. I also like the decor, and enjoyed the wonderful fish tanks, and as you are setting there, if you happen to watch the fish, they are entertaining and have a wonderful calming effect.

I have been a customer at Stew's since it opened and I have seen alot of changes. Hands down Stew's has the best brew master in the business. Every brew they offer is excellent. I prefer the honey ale, but I have tried them all and even though I am not a big fan of stouter ales and brews, I liked them all. The service has improved considerably over the last year and a half and is very good and is constantly improving. The food is delicious and I personally think that the portions are much too large for what is charged. The entire establishment is spotless and the staff is very friendly. You must remember that this is not some corporate, franchised chain where the kinks of running a business have already been worked out with the first restaurant. This is a local, family-owned business that brings employment, entertainment and a quality product to our community. The owners are present and accessible and welcome their valued customers' opionions. The continuing upgrades and ammenity additions at Stew's is a direct reflection of how high the owner's regard their customers' satisfaction. You are not going to find that kind of committment to customer's at some chain. Not only do the owners value their customers, they also value their community by supporting local charities and participating in fund raisers when ever given the opportunity. It is a hot spot and always packed to the walls, especially on weekends and during the summer. When you have to drive around the block 6 or 7 times to find a parking spot, you know that the place is jumpin'. You are not going to have that kind of loyalty from your customer's unless you deliver a quality product that is valued by the community. I look forward to what Stew's will do next as I am sure it will be original and fun and I will continue to patron Stew's and to suggest this as the place to meet, eat and taste some of the best brews anywhere. Thank you to the Stew's family for being loyal to your community and bringing us a great place to spend some time.

I took my mom out to lunch at Stew's when she came up for a visit. She ordered the Alfredo and stated it was best she had ever had. The service was quick and friendly. My mom is not much of a beer drinker, however, she did enjoy their Honey. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is one of the best places Carson has ever had. The food was great, the selection was even better. The weekend band was awesome. The beer is some of the best I have ever had. The honey beer is awesome as was the blonde. The staff was friendly and worked hard. I read some of the other reviews before we went in and I am not sure if the people who wrote such scathing reviews even went into the same place we did, or maybe they had a personal vendetta.
We seated ourselves and had a server welcome us within minutes. We recieved our meal hot and quickly. The prices were reasonable for the quality.
We recommend Stew's all the time to everyone we come across.

I went to Stew's about two weeks ago and had one of the worst experiences I have had a restaurant. I came in for lunch with my girlfriend after seeing the brewery as I was driving in Carson. It took about 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by the server. Just as we were about to leave he made contact with us. There were other people eating and sitting at the bar. It took him forever to get our food and never refilled our drinks. After almost leaving again waiting for the food, he emerged from the back with it. In the process of giving me my French dip sandwich, he spilled the hot jus on me. This was a honest mistake, BUT he didn't even apologize. He gave me napkins to clean the table and myself, never once offered to clean the table. After all of this he took about 10 minutes to bring me another au jus. So I just had to sit there and look at my sandwich with au jus on my pants but none for my sandwich. The food was not even that good. We were trying to leave but he took another 10 minutes to bring the check. I didn't have a beer there, but hopefully that is better than the service and food, otherwise Stew's has nothing good to offer.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! The staff is very unprofessional and it appears that the owners have no clue of how to run this place. The food was over priced and nothing to brag about. My server appeared to be under the influence and disappeared several times when we needed her. While eating our dinner we observed some other employees chatting on their cell phones and smoking in the building in front of customers. If this wasn't bad enough we witnessed a fight break out in their bar area which made it difficult to exit the building.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside there is a nice dining area and a comfortable bar with plenty of HD TVs. The brews are not exceptional but are very drinkable. The menu has a nice variety of entrees and the seafood rollups were geat. The staff and bartender were attentive and friendly. I'll definitely return on my next visit to Carson City.

The restaurant is very dirty! The employees were smoking in front of the guest. did not wash their hands before approaching a new table! The food took forever and was not very good! The beer was good, just very limited choices! Would not recommend for future visits.

Visited on the day after Christmas. Tried the sampler set as I was pressed for time. Having visited 100's of brewpubs I have to say that the 7 beers offered (pilsener, blonde, amber, fest, honey, ipa and stout) were some of the most tasty beers I have ever had. Most pubs specialize in one or two styles and the other offerings are afterthoughts. Not here! This brewer makes Great beer! I wouldn't hesitate to return for a longer visit and to try the food. Hopefully the residents of Carson City realize what they have and patronize Stew's so that it is around for a long time. I also have to agree with the previous review and say that the serving staff is smokin' hot. UtahSteve

This is the newest hidden hot spot for Carson City. The newest beer on tap is an IPA. All I can say is that it really grabs the taste buds. All the other beers on tap are very tasty!Honey Lager, Porter, Crystal Wheat, Amber, Pale Ale and a BLonde that taste as good as the bartender that is serving it! The best looking staff in carson City, friendly and promt service. Thursday night we found out is bike night. Micro beers for only $2.50! Happy hour the beers are only $3.00. You sure get a bang for your buck @ Stew's Brewery. Thanks for opening up in Carson City!! We needed a place like you.
