This is my go-to bar in DC when I'm there on business. The happy hourdaily specials fit my per diem budget perfectly and the food is a cut above what's usually served at a joint that makes its money on booze. Very eclectic crowd, making it a comfortable destination for a old geezer like myself who would rather put a bullet in his head than sit in some fern bar at the Marriott with all the other hapless road warriors getting off with their Blackberries.

I've spent many an evening there at the bar, reading the Washington City Paper, nursing a couple of cool ones, munching on wings or burgers, and chatting with the friendly and usually always interesting patrons. It's got a nice college town vibe without being sophomoric, noisy and fun without being overwhelming, and it's spread out enough so that there is always a seat at the bar no matter how many people are there knocking them back.

Note that the nearby Lucky Bar has a similar feel (same ownership???) and the wise consumer will check out the daily specials at both places before deciding where to go.

Beer List, Beer List, Beer List!!!! That is all that I have to say about this spot, it is amazing!!!! I got to pick from over 25 taps, most of which were independent craft American beers, it was great! Chicken wings were hot, crispy and slammin, and the delicious pale ales chased em down were something fierce. I loved the fact they changed their taps regularly and still offered bargain drink prices during happy hour, great local spot to check out for sure, if you live here or are visiting. Either way, you are in for a good time.

I came in for the wing special and ordered three dollars worth. The bartender told me I had to get a beer so I ordered the IPA that he recommended. I was surprised that my bill was $10 (apparently my beer cost $7) You can get better prices at an airport or baseball game. Luckily I had $11 on me so I was able to pay and leave a small tip. The bartender never asked me if I needed anything and flagging him down was like pulling teeth, never mind that the other two simply ignored me. Still I was polite and friendly, I was even more surprised that they would not give me a box to take home my five remaining wings. I couldn't believe it, I will never go back

A dark, smoky hole-in-the-wall-type bar frequented mostly by a younger crowd. A decent selection of beers including several apparently brewed for them by various breweries. Other than these there was nothing on draft that I can't get at home but the bottle selection helped round things out. Since the bar was full I took a table and invited three people to join me who came in after I did. All were recent law school grads and we spent an enjoyable evening talking. They gave me some info on other local bars.

This place is scary. There is a big rhinoceros looking head on the wall. There is a little man who will try to convince you to ride his motorcycle...DONT DO IT! He is little and insane! He is from Takoma Park...need I say more? For a good time...go to the Front Page...just across the way..with easy access to the military..they sweep the floors in wife beaters at the end of the night. Fridays...Allen is on special...according to Johnny... Peace... DC lovin' chicks

Excellent selection of beers on tap, nice mix of foreign beers and microbrews. Good crowd, nice atmosphere. Food is pub food but tasty, and a bit of variety on the menu (fish & chips, portabello mushroom sandwich, etc.)

I've just returned from Washington, DC. Thanks to www.pubcrawler.com, I found a this place. It is right off of Dupont Circle, on Connecticut Avenue. There are 30 beers on draught(actually includes ciders as well). I tried DeGroen's Märzen, and Brooklyn Brown Dark Ale, just to name a few. The French Bread Pizza is good too.

The finest bar in DC, the Big Hunt offers excellent drafts (unlike the Brickskeller, its challenger for best beer bar). The food is uniformly excellent, and reasonably priced. They make the best martinis in town here.
