A classic, neighborhood bar. It had a handpump with Grog brown ale from nearby Nodding Head. The bartender was Irish which added to the atmosphere. I only stopped in for one beer before meeting friends, but would like to hang out here and try the food. A bit off the regular path and worth finding.

Nice place to drop in, with friendly staff. Food was standard pub fare, & the beer was fine. But this taught me to ask if the Guiness on tap is the real stuff or that putrid "draft style." A nasty surprise.

Certainly an Irish experience for all beer lovers. Warm, dark wooden interior provides a comfortable setting to enjoy some good beer. 8 taps and about 30 bottles of a good variety. Several other Pubcrawler places within a short walk if you're into a beer crawl. Nice people on staff made me feel right at home. A good stop.

Beer Quality Beer Selection Food Service Overall
Awesome! Good N/A Good Great
A comfortable pub that is up the street from Nodding Head and around the corner from McGillin's. Nice unpretentious atmosphere - no yuppies or Bud Swillers, just regulars - judging from other reviews - though I was from out of town. I rated the Beer Quality "Awesome" for the fact that Fergie pulls a great pint, too good as I imbibed about 5 pints. But seeing as it's Guinness, I owe no apologies. Also Yard's on cask and Yuengling Porter in bottles. Better than many of the faux pubs that seem to appear everywhere. No names of course.

The Yards ESA on the pump was a treat. Beautiful dark paneling. Our first visit and we'll be back next time we're in town. Be sure and check out the mural on the side of the building. Very... interesting.

The beer selection consists of about a half a dozen taps but most of them are either local or beers not normally carried by many other bars. They have cask conditioned Yards on the hand pump, and for me any bar with hand pumps is always worth going to. In addition to that Casey, the bartender on duty that night, treated me and my wife very well (even though we were strangers/newcomers) and was pretty happy all night, talking, cracking jokes, etc. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food. By the time we got hungry (about 1 AM) the kitchen was closed so we took a walk to Chinatown for a meal. The jukebox at Fergie's is also pretty good with a nice mix of music. I would definitely recommend this place.

We visited Fergie's yesterday and it was the highlight of our Pub Crawl! We were welcomed by the owner, server, and bartender and treated very well by all. The food was very good and well priced. A pickup band in the corner entertained us while we ate and drank. We found the place very homey and welcoming.

A great, real Irish pub. When I came in a few days ago, they had five guys playing real Irish music and had the place rockin'. I think they do that every Sat. Worth a visit to hear and enjoy a great pint of Guinness.

Fergie's is the most authentic Irish pub that Philly has to offer. Guinness on tap is excellent because they move so much of it. Most of the bartenders are from Ireland. A classic, no-frills Irish pub.

I love Fergies to just hang, Food is typical Pub Grub. A good place to just hang out with no pretense. Quizo- PUB quiz on Tuesday and Thursday is fun, Great Jukebox, No annoying TV.

I think you should expect more from this pub considering that the owner, Fergie Carey, shares ownership of Monk's Cafe with Tom Peters. He needs a better selection. Bartenders tend to be rude to newcomers.
