I can't believe this dump is owned by the same people who own the spectacular Old Monk a few blocks away. But I guess the problems with this place come mostly from its location. When I visited, it was filled with degenerates. But who else are you going to attract on this part of Greenville? The place is tiny, cramped and dirty. The bathroom was filthy and covered with graffiti. The beer selection was good, but I didn't want to risk eating in a place that resembles a hepatitis clinic.
If you are obsessed with hurting mommy and daddy's feelings by dressing like a bum, mutilating yourself, and refusing to bathe, you will probably love this place. If you're a human and you want the same excellent selection of beer, coupled with a better menu and a vastly better atmosphere, do yourself a favor and drive the few blocks to the Old Monk.

I couldn't agree with the previous assessement more if I wanted to. This place has gone really downhill. I have gone to the Dubliner for years and barely step foot in there now. The has been a complete change in the atmosphere. There is a very unfriendly, almost unqualified, immature staff which no doubt brings in a similar crowd. It used to attract more of and adult and young professional crowd and maybe some students. Not anymore. The food is okay, beer selection good, but that fun atmosphere that attracted so many lon-term patrons is missing. No British or Irish Staff? There is that one guy, but I rarely see him. Just slow bartenders chatting to each other and the waitstaff flirting with them or their friends. Except that really tall waitress, she seems efficient. Sometimes I don't even want to order a drink to have to deal with the hassle or roll of the eyes. I have noticed this as well. James isn't the only one. My girlfriend can never get anyone to serve her and the women are often rude. I recommend the other two pubs owned by the same people, The Idle Rich and Old Monk, they are still good, but not the Dubliner anymore.

I always go to the Dubliner when I am in Dallas. Well I used to go there. I travel to Dallas for business twice a month. I used to go a few nights a week, grab beers, a sandwich, and some fun. The bar used to be staffed by English & Irish people that were friendly and authentic. They always knew just what you wanted and were fast with a smile and Irish twang. It really made this place the best pub around. The last 4 times I went there was a different crowd. No fun regulars, I guess they noticed the change too. The bar was staffed by a bunch of kids covered in tattoos (fine for rougher bars) or had snide looks, slow service, roll of the eyes when you order. They seemed more interested in chatting to each other and pointing and whispering about patrons than they did providing adequate service. I guess every dog has its day and the Dubliner's is surely over.

This isn't just a bar, it's a gathering place. On any evening there'll bikes, from Vespa's, to very old BMW's, to Harley's parked in front & lots of folks bring their dogs right in..... Good selection of single malts, good beer, just a good place to hang out for a while. Definitely not pretentious (see the reviews for Fox & Hound). This is the kind of place that can be a regular stop.

This is the place to drink while in Dallas. I hate clubs; nothing but meat markets. I'm a drinker and the Dubliner serves up just what my friends and I love- great beer. And the jukebox rules. I got to hear Pixies, Elvis Costello and Flogging Molly. Dubliner Forever!!

I used to frequent this place when it was the Tipperary Inn. Still a fantastic bar with one of the best beer selections in town! The only place I have ever seen a rasberry lambic on tap before. Thank God you can still smoke there!

I had to move to Dallas briefly in '96 for about 10 months and if it wasn't for the Dubliner.... well' let's just say, "It's the BEST Pub in Dallas." The 2 owners, Feargal & Peter are incredibly nice guys! I spent many an afternoon after work and definitely many weekend nights there. I met great people and made good friends. In fact, Feargal & Peter... if you ever read these reviews, this is Tony & Gretchen's friend that moved back to San Francisco. Hope you guys are both doing well!!! If it wasn't for my hatred of the word 'awesome', I would have given the place a higher rating!!!

Sure the people at the DUBLINER can pour a' wicked glass of Ale but it goes beyond that. The DUBLINER is your local--International bar. I mean after a few pints, if you were told that you were in Ireland you may be inclined to belive it. You should see this place go off on ST. Pat's

A small Irish pub in a fun neighborhood, a little crowded on the weekends, but the local university students find it a happenin' hangout.
