We've been here 2 or 3 times and have been satisfied each time. They recently added a brick oven for pizzas and it's worth trying for a nice snack. Beer have been on the dark/harsh side for our taste, we don't care much for stouts, porters and browns so this is not to say they were bad, just not our regular styles. The others were quite tasty and the staff very friendly and funny. It's worth stopping if you're in the area or if you're not, make the trip. Small place with very limited, and enforced, parking but certainly very cozy, comfortable and worth your time and effort.

Thanks to Bartender Scott and Brewer Brandon for the afternoon of beer and pizza at Motor City! Motor City has a lot under the hood for a compact brew pub. Stop by and see the art. We visited on a somewhat cool and overcast May afternoon, but opted to sit on the rooftop deck. We had several pints of Ghetto Blaster, Old Gear Oil, Pale, and root beer. The Old Gear Oil was a very good sour Flemish Brown. Although the food is somewhat limited, it is excellent. Try a brick over pizza, we had the Godfather and the BBQ Chicken!

This to me was just an average brewpub. The beer while drinkable, nothing really stood out. I'd had their beers at the festivals and thought they were much better in those places. The place inside was nice and I was told the food is good but didn't try it.

Overall ambience is low-key university liberalism. Some improvements over the years. Can't beat the price. Only reason didn't rate the beer great or better is that there seems to be consistent problems with the taps, lines, etc... Staff is pretty cool with Dan overshadowing them all. Little outside upper deck is absolutely great in the summer. Worth going out of your way to find.

Downtown Detroit!!! This place is cool, man! Had the Ghettoblaster and the Nut brown together (AKA Nutblaster). Very tasty, nutty with a good malt appeal. Another brewpub across the street, too. This pub has good wines, too.

The Brew Pub has a very nice cozy atmospere and unique design. The upper deck is great on a sunny day. The beer is first class (my favorite is the Lager). They've recently introduced a selection on in house wines and ciders which I have yet to try. The staff is very cool and normally are kcking some good music. Warning: They close around midnight so get there early.

A pleasant and friendly place to stop. They were having trouble with the CO2 when we were there, but we were able to sample the nut brown and pale ale. Both were good.

Very cool, low key place. Very helpful staff. Great beer selection for such a small place. Ghettoblaster (English Mild Ale-check out the compilation CD of the same name with great Detroit Garage bands), Motown lager, Pale Ale, Nut Brown (the best anywhere!), Honey Porter and Corktown Stout.

I have not been here since July 2002, but they have added a bar area with an outdoor upper deck. They have had several incarnations as a microbrewery. The beer was OK, a sweet lager, a roasty nut brown ale, and a summer-wheat-like pale ale. As a bonus, it is right across the street from the Traffic Jam, which was Michigan's first brewpub and is a great restaurant.

Excellent beer and a great idea. Their beer names could be better (Ghetto blaster for a Mild?) but hey.....I buy for the beer not the name. Keep up the great work.

Great beer and one of the coolest breweries in Michigan. It's like a pole barn in the center of Wayne St. with a brewery inside!

This is not a brewpub and has no tasting facility. The owner, John, is a nice guy and plans to add a tasting area. They "start" beer for Traffic Jam & Snug across the street
