Found this place on Pubcrawler and about 20 of us showed up from a convention in town. They were somewhat overwhelmed and even the customers pitched in to serve. It was a great experience with great beer [the most important thing]. Unfortunately, supposed to lose their lease at the end of July, 09.

Couldn't believe how wonderful this place was! The atmosphere and energy level was bright and inviting. Kudos to the brewer for the beer and finding the most outstanding barmaid ever encountered. Stella makes you feel as if you've come home; that is if you love your home :) If not, you want to be adopted. Her humor and grace is surpassed only by her beauty and talent. You've got to experience it to believe it!!

What a hidden gem. I enjoyed the portabella sandwich and sports conversation with the bartender. The Lager went down easy. I will come back early and often.

We were in the Pontiac area visiting family and had to take the opportunity to sample some local brews. I looked up King's on PubCrawler and saw it was right near our hotel, so we headed over for lunch. The woman behind the bar was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere in the pub was welcoming, clean, and homey. Immediately, it struck us as the kind of place we would frequent if we lived nearby. We got samples of each of the beers and they were each excellent examples of their styles. Our favorites were the Porter, the Hard Tail Ale, and the Moka Java Stout. Lunch was delicious, my wife had an outstanding burger and I had the pulled pork. We also got some onion rings that were really snackin! She said all the food is prepared fresh on site and we could certainly taste the fresh, high quality ingredients and excellent execution by the chef. We'll be in town a couple more days and are planning another visit.

Maybe I hit King on a bad day for them or for my taste buds, but I can't agree with Awesome or Great. Nothing was foul or "off", but nothing really hit me as above average. Lager, Wheat, Red were just kind of there, not very distinctive. Porter a bit thin, flavor fades. Hard Tail Ale saved the day; a nice ale--very drinkable. Interior Spartan, functional. Seemed to have a good local following. I'll try them again next trip through the area.

Our bartender Stella knew her products and made great recommendations, both in terms of food and drink. We were in town for three days and wound up visiting Kings twice. I would DEFINITELY stop in next time I'm in the area. They don't have a huge selection, but what they have is WONDERFUL!

I am from Dallas, Texas here on business - I try to go to the King every time I am in town. All the food is very very good - and the service depends on the speed of the kitchen - but you are not there for fast food - just a good time.

The beer and the food are unbelievable. I can't say enough in praise of this menu; it's like no bar I've ever eaten in. Never visit this brewpub without trying the walleye reuben... simply incredible. It's become one of my favorite destinations, and it's about a 40 mile trip. Worth it every time. Very nice staff.

Absolutely fantastic - The Mocha Java Stout is too die for! The best of both worlds . . . Chocolate and Coffee in a beer. Who could ask for more.

A great selection of finely brewed beers can be found in this factory style building. It appears to be a place for regulars - and lucky ones they are. The good is Great, service may seem slow to those not used to coming here. Overall - A great place to stop when in the area.

Our brew club had their weekly meeting here. Showed up early for dinner and was very happy that I did. Love the great staff, excellent food. Pulled pork sandwich, shrimp Po-Boys, a couple of Heff's = 27 bucks! Tuesday night is movie night. Spaceballs is way funnier without the beer geeks in the back

What's not to love about a Walleye Rueben and great (sorry, Awesome!) beer? That John Priestly bartender dude is kinda weird, other than that the place is very cool. Small micro brewery feel that won't go away due to lack of marketing..

I tried their IPA and Old Ale, and both were excellent. The food and atmosphere were also good. The only problem we had was that the service was very slow, probably because they only had one server for the entire place, and we had a table of 11 people. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit. The surrounding neighborhood looks run down, but this place is in very nice shape.

I found Kings on Pubcrawler and what a gem. The place is small but not tiny. I loved the beers and the locals I struck up conversations with were just great. Pablo, Epinaw and some others... one was in the band playing the next night. I had a great time, met some great folks, had a great meal and some very good beer-- My pint glass collection is about 50 now. One last thing. Get this!! The Men's room is also fantastic. Hospital clean and nicely decorated. Not something I have ever written about before. I will go back every time I am within 50 miles of Pontiac.

All the beers here are good. I have never had a bad beer at King. My favorite, is the Crown Brown. I think Scott and crew are doing a great job. The food and service are always very good too. Hot tip. On Mondays, after 5pm, you get a cheeseburger, with chips and a 20 ounce beer for $5. I have been there many times, and will continue to go back. Keep up the good work.

Outstanding Porter and Cherry Ale, not to mention great salads, sammys and service. Plus, whoever's programming the music... nice job! A hidden gem in an otherwise semi-blighted area.

One of the best microvrews in the Detroit Area. Fantastic beer and service, I especially love the Mocha Java Stout. Seasonal Selection may vary. Specials as of 11-14-4 are; Monday burger and pint of beer $3.00, Tuesday .25 wings, Wednesday $3.00 growler fillup with $5.00 food purchase. Great food and ONLY the beer that they produce.

Nice little joint. I came here with a couple of friends on a Saturday early afternoon and there was only two other people sitting in the whole place, which seemed a little strange, but cozy. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and we got our food within 10 minutes. The food was absolutely fantastic. There were five beers on tap, and I tried them all. The best was the Anniversary Ale, which I believe was a Belgian wit, and a very good one at that. The porter was also excellent. The pale ale I thought could have used more hop flavor and aroma. The hefeweizen was good, but not as good as the Belgian wit. I would definitely come here again.
