The place has a couple of televisions, some great giant artwork on the wall depicting famous faces that was painted by a former employee, and some small stained glass windows showing pints of beer. Its a nice enough place, but nothing special or outstanding really.
I was very tempted to get the pizza with their brewing grains in the dough, but went for a Cuban instead, because it combined smoked pork loin with ham. But when the sandwich came, it looked like deli meat. Im not sure if it was, but it kind of tasted like it to me. Nothing special about this sandwich, but it is solid pub food. Fries were good too.
They have quite a variety of beer and some extremely unique examples, as well. But they run a little short on good session beers. The four main brews are all solid session beers, and of the tasters I had, the Tall Tale Pale Ale (lightly hopped for a pale with a nice complexity) and the Cambridge Amber (bitter roasted/smoky character from a small amount of chocolate malt, I'm guessing) were the best.
Now on to the experiments! They had a strong barley wine, a nice espresso stout, a nicely spiced Belgian, an ancient style of unhopped "gruit," a chocolate chili stout, and a beer attuned to the frequency of the mantra OM. Of everything I had, the Tall Tale Pale, Barley Wine, and a Cherry Stout (nice and sour instead of sweet) left over from valentines day were my favorites.
The best part, to me, was the service. Even though she talked me away from a pizza (I was due to join a friend for dessert later that night and apparently the pizzas are big) she gave me a small shot of each of their 11 beers for free instead of making me order $2.00, 6-ounce samples of each.

Located in Kendall Square, which appears to have once been an industrial area, CBC serves quaffably average beer - of course, this being the Boston area, one has many other choices - see my other reviews; however, I was visiting and thought to give it a try. As noted in previous reviews, this is not a very large establishment, but it is airy and well-lit with a heavy "former warehouse" decour (deliberate?) The large number of nerds and eggheads typing away on their laptops atop the bar must say something (in the square root) about nightlife in the MIT area. Say fellows, I don't drink in your office, so please don't work at my bar. The service was spotty, but I was in no hurry. The food, though very good, goes a tad beyond pub grub (Venison salsa! C'mon!) CBC did offer the gamut of beer styles (7-8) including a cask ESB, albeit a poor one. Others tried by moi: Cambridge Amber, Tall Tale Pale Ale (nice and hoppy with a crisp finish), and a great porter (Charles River). Check out the Yoda gargoyle above the bar - no doubt staring down among the adult virgins. If pubcrawling in Boston, stop by.

A small brew pub, in which some of the brewed beers are great and some are awful. Usually at leat 8 beers to choose from. Try a sampler and find which of the rotating beers are worth drinking a pint of. Most of the food is very good, but be prepared to wait a while for it the service is slow.

The service at the Cambridge Brewing Co is very slow and sometimes downright rude. (What kind of jerk waits tables in Boson wearing a Yankees hat? This guy must be looking for confrontation.) "Endless Summer" was the worst beer that I've ever had two sips of -- my friend compared it to the taste of crushed aspirin.

Brew Pub stop # 3 was the Cambridge Brewery on the 5th of June. We got there a little before 12 for lunch. They were just getting things ready. We were told by the waiter that they had a big MIT party the night before that ran to 3 A.M. so they were all a bit ragged. It showed. The bathroom could have used a good cleaning, as well as the rugs in the restaurant. Maybe I got them on a bad day, because my IPA seemed as flat as the Kansas prarie. My wife and daughter liked their brews, but they are easy to please. The food was O.K. I don't think I would go out of my way to visit this brew pub again.

After trudging through the rainy streets of Cambridge, this place was a welcoming haven. The beer selection was varied, and the 3 we tried were excellent. A solid, hoppy IPA is what i started with, while my wife enjoyed the pumpkin. We followed this up with one of the house standards, an amber, which was good. The food was tasty, i had a giant sandwich and my wife really liked her fall raviolis. The service was good and the atmosphere was great. Overall, worth a stop.

Always good beer, very good service, nice crowd. Skip the downtown Boston brew pubs and come here. I love their bar (the serving counter). Some places don't even have one, but this bar has a real bar! They are so popular they could let their beer quality slide, but they never have. They had some kegs at a MA beer festial, and after carefully sampling and comparing many beers I decided that they were best of show.

Superb service from Lee behind the bar. He's been there a while, and he's top-notch. Great biers. Today, the Scotch Ale; Barleywine and Dubbel also A-1. Excellent pulled-pork sammich, on a great home-made roll. Great time!!

Cambridge Brewing offers a six beer sampler which includes a pale ale that is indiscernible from their golden ale, and a seriously under hopped IPA. But the beers are still enjoyable. Try the hot wings, which are hot even for Texas standards.

Nice selection of brews and good service...We sat at the bar. Scott the bartender at the time was friendly and made us feel comfortable. I gave "great" rating becuase I consider awesome almost unobtainable by most standards. Should I ever find an "awesome" rated brewpub, I probably won't leave until the cops take me out...

Excellent beer, fantastic seasonals. The food is pretty good except for the burgers and the Nachos Garcia which most definitely deserve the "Great" rating. (The Barley Wine and Belgian Tripels are out of this world!)

The beer may be perfectly acceptable, but they consistently serve it stale or from a bar that desperately needs cleaning, so it tastes bad. Terrific atmosphere, great array of beer choices (including seasonals,) decent service, forgettable pub menu.

They have some great beers. During my trip to the Northeast, this place takes the blue ribbon followed by Boston Beer Works and Heartland in NYC. Great dark beers, great Hefeweizen, great red ale. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. Great wings too!

The number of beers offered is not huge, but the quality is good. The porter is always offered, and is good, but there is usually not a stout on the menu. The seasonal barley wine is outstanding. The food is above average for pub fare.
