Visited on June 19 and were told that June 26 will be the last day the brewery will be open under the current management. The new owner will make some modifications to both restaurant and brewery (new brewmaster is from Colorado) and re-open this summer under a different name.

These guys should stick to the upscale menu and leave the brewing to someone else. 4 beers on tap, tried the Piney Ridge lager which was much closer to a pale ale. The IPA tasted much like the lager. Both were on the flat side. If you are looking for a decent menu, come here. But if you are looking for great beer, venture elsewhere.

Excellent food, good selection of beers. All of the beers were good but some seemed somewhat watered down. Still much better than average. Particularly liked the Afton Ale.

They should let the cook make the beer. The variety of beer changes color but the taste stays the same weak and cheap tasting. Very good chow.

They were better when they opened 10 years ago. Failure to develop new recipes and a *lot* of unintended batch variation has badly hurt their beer.

Much better beer here than at the other brewpub in town, plus the food was very good. Had an excellent dinner, after having a couple of pretty good beers at the bar. Someplace I'd go back to, next time I'm in Charlottesville.

We had a excellent meal. The menu had some outstanding items and the food was well prepared and served. The beer was very good, but not particularly memorable when compared with the food. Very nice place!

Best place in Charlottesville to spend the afternoon with a beer. Great variety on the menu. A local place, with regular clientele. They don't go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
