My experience here has inspired me to write my first review. I have been to over fifty breweries throughout the country, and have never been to one that I liked every beer that they had. That is until today. Great job Pike Brewery! I wish I could buy your beer back in Indiana.

I really liked this place, great selection, great location and atmosphere. The beer is on par with other Northwest gems, and the staff is friendly. Check it out next time your in Seattle!

An excellent visit. The bar area was slammed but we found seats. Service was professional and in every way satisfactory. The beers, 6-8 on tap or in bottles (older vintages of their barley wine), were clean and characterized by well done hop/malt balance appropriate for the style. The beer has a tilt toward "British" and none of the overblown all hops brews were in evidence. There were nods to a couple of Belgian styles a Tripel and a dark strong which were nicely done. The one disappointment with the beer was the Kiltlifter which in the past, as I recall, was a "wee heavy". The beer we had was a pretty good example of an 80d Export style. Still a very good beer but the malt and complexity was gone and the hopping was a bit too high. Kiltlifter was available on cask and was excellent, heavenly.
The food was very well done but take warning. The stuffed salmon is listed as spicy. Spicy is not the correct word. I love Thai food so heat is usually not a worry but this dish was so hot neither of us could finish it.

Definitely in the heart of tourist town. Hard to miss that fact when a pint is fifty cents higher than at Elysians or McMenamins/Six Arms. That being said I still like stopping in when in Seattle. They had nine house taps going with a trio of guest brews to go along with a full bar. Ran through a pint each of the Pike IPA, Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale and the XXXXX Extra Stout. The IPA was excellent and seemed to be the consensus favorite of those at the bar. Sadly, the Kilt Lifter seemed a bit lifeless. On previous visits it's been uplifting. By the time I got to the stout I'd indulged in a side of jalapenos so I was just trying to put out the fire. The food menu is extensive leaning not-surprisingly toward seafood. Had the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Tasty but not a big enough portion to make the usual mess. Downgraded the service because I hate to see my glass sit empty for more than a few minutes especially since it wasn't that busy. Not a major disaster though. It's still worth a visit. And they've got no shortage of "Pike" merchandise.

I visited with my family on 27 June 2008. There was a cask conditioned IPA on tap that was Awesome! There was also a larger variety of beers on tap than I remember from my last trip 3 years earlier. The have a couple "guest" beers on tap, but like most brewpubs, they serve mostly (or exclusively) thier own. The food was excellent, with a large menu. We especially enjoyed the mussels and smoked salmon appetizers, but the entrees were very good too! Pike Brewery and Pub may appeal to tourists with it's location at Pike Market, but it continues to be a must-stop for me whenever I'm in Seattle.

Feels like a bit of a tourist trap, but I thought the beer was quite good. My favorite of a five brewery Washington tour. Right next door to the pike market.

I have enjoyed Pike's beer in bottle for several years and had the opportunity to visit when I was in Seattle. We set in the sitting area next to the bar and had several beers. Bar staff was friendly and recommended a few places to go after Pike closed for the night. I had the IPA, among others. The bar and restaurant are decorated with a nice collection of breweryana.

ATTENTION!
This brewery has changed their recipes.
Im afraid to say when I bought my last 6 pack of Pike "Kilt Lifter" I noticed a new label........
The bad news is I also found a completely reconstructed beer.
This is NOT the beer it used to be.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Try to stop whenever we are in Seattle, love the Pale Ale!! The other beers seemed to sweet for my taste. The food is wonderful, both the appetizers and sandwiches. Love the atmosphere and location. A definite visit if you are down on the waterfront and want to grab a pint or 2.

Their XXX stout is very good. The IPA was favorful yet not hoppy enough for me. Good selection of bottled beers
A definite tourist dstination. i saw a party sitting in a booth nearby drinking Cokes with their meals. What was that about?
Physically an interesting facilty. the waiter was cherrful and working as fast as possible with the lunchtime crowd.
Food was okay.

Seattle has awesome beer, but Pike's is by far my least favorite brewery. The actual brewpub is a really neat location, underground, with a lot of cool features, but I never thought the beer was that great. All there types of beer from the IPA to the Porter and in between, are really sweat and taste off to me.
Just not the biggest fan, much better brew to be had.

I love the beer, but on the 20 or so occasions I have stopped in, the service and food have been consistently poor. Often times the bartender has had almost no knowledge of the product and when I have had a table, the service has been insulting with matching prices.

Pike Brewery gets an overall "Good" simply because it is in Seattle, where there are simply too many other "great" purveyors of malted beverages. Any other city (with the obvious exceptions) it would be great. It is located in the famous Pike Place Market amid tourists and an occasional local. During my visit I enjoyed:Naughty Nellies (IBU 22), Pike Pale Ale (IBU 32) and Pike IPA (IBU 60!) In that PBP is owned by distributor Merchant du Vin, they also offer some great bottled selections, such as Ayinger, Samuel Smith and Westmalle. In fact they had an almost complete style selection of Ayinger.

You may think this place wouldnt be legit since its actually in a mini-mall type area just off of Pike's Market. However, this place is worth stopping by, if not for the food then definitely for the beer. Had the sampler and all were very good. Oatmeal stout was the best, but all styles were quality. Even had guest brews Lindemans on tap. Food was excellent, had salmon stuffed with crab and shrimp dressed with a spicy coconut suace. Seafod was as fresh as it comes. My favorite so far in Seattle.

Crab-chees dip was really good; a little skimpy on the crab but I still enjoyed it. Kilt Raiser seemed a little mild compared to companies description. I enjoyed the IPA. There were even two guest Belgiums.

I visited Pike a few summers ago with high expectations. Pike was one of the first micros that I had tried many years ago. The pale ale was OK, the stout was good, but not as good as I had remembered. They did not have the IPA at the time, nor a barleywine/old ale thast was advertised on the wall. Kind of a let down to me. I need to try again.

Nice place to get fresh beer if you are downtown. True British style ales so if you are used to other NW beers you might be slightly put off as the hop level is very low. I have always had good food and service.

The location does lend itself to tons of tourist but I tried it--several times--once on my first trip and twice on my last trip--each time desperatly wanting to like it. But it just never really did much for me. The beer isn't bad--very drinkable, after all the awards and comments from others I expected something really great and it didn't happen. Service was poor. Even setting at the bar you had to send up a flare to get your glass filled. The IPA really isn't. It's an ESB--at best. The Nut brown was pretty wattery. Don't avoid this place--it's a great place to get out of the traffic and have a seat--just don't expect too much.
