A fun drinking establishment in Birmingham. The beers are very clean, fresh, and full of good characteristics. The pastas and pizzas are super yummy.

OVERALL: As a Friday regular at MCB, I have the good fortune to experience a multitude of brews. If you're visiting from out-of-town (or a local, for that matter), you will find this establishment to be well-versed in microbrewing.
FOOD: Tremendous! Usually it seems breweries are just that: breweries. Aside of some cheese fries to curb an onset of the munchies, menus are often limited. However, MCB offers a vast selection of (well-priced) entrees. Plus, 4:00-7:00 weekdays is happy hour, including free food and unbelievable beer prices (sorry, no traditional bottled domestics). Also, a cigar-friendly pub, but consider bringing your own, as the selection is not Afficionado quality).

Bar none, the best in B'ham. Beer is best micro in town, and food is surprisingly good.

27 Sept. visit. Light beer - OK. Golden Ale - Good, but not remarkable. Sloss Steamer - Very good, amber, malty-roasty but not hoppy ale. Oxmoor Stout - light to medium body. Octoberfest Ale (seasonal) - Excellent very lightly spiced pumpkin ale. Pumpkin and spice flavors barely perceptible. Malty and complex. Food - Try their wood-fired brick oven pizzas.
