This place is a chophouse above all, I think the brewery part is mostly a gimmic. None of their beers were very good, but the food and service on our visit was excellent. I recommend this place for dinner, but not a stop on a brewery tour of Denver.

I would agree that the food is great, which is the main reason for going here. The microbrews on tap were good as well, at least the two Pale Ale's that I enjoyed. I would concur with most other about the service. Even though we had a group of about 10 I expected to have a little bit better service. If you want an enjoyable evening, start here for a nice dinner and then head over to the Falling Rock Tap House a couple of blocks away for your fill of many fine brews.

Pleasant place to dine and I thought the food outrated the beers. The Nut Brown had excellent taste with light body, and the Stout was somewhat harsh like I was drinking a beer with pine sap in it.

Can get very crowded. Usually have to wait an hour and a half or so to be seated. Food is really good. Get the KC strip. Best steak in town. Beer is really good too. You have to try the cask stout. Will leave some hair on your chest (careful ladies). I've seen Avalanche players in there, including Ray Bourque and Chris Drury. In fact this is where Peter Forsberg was when he fell ill and had to go get his spllen removed after a playoff game vs the LA Kings.

This place is definitely more of a restaurant than a brew pub. The beer was decent but not outstanding. It's close to the ballpark and lots of other good places to get a beer.

Okay, this isn't your typical brewbub. This is the kind ob brewpub where the food really outdoes the . I tried a sampler and was not impressed. However, I found the food to be outstanding. This is the only brewbub where I've ordered wine instead of . Nonetheless, the is quite good, though it doesn't really go with the food on the menu. Enjoy

I had a bourbon keg aged stout that was one of the best beers I've ever had. Great atmosphere!

Fellow beer drinks.... why are you so hard on the beer? I find the quality of the beer to be very good (not great, and not exceptional, but certaily not tasteless). To whom said it first, you are correct.... come for the food. It's a expensive, but well worth it. Service leaves with something to be desired though. If I'm paying that much for a meal, I should expect more from the wait staff. Unfortunately, I tend to get better service from Ethel at the IHOP. I've been there four times, and the beer and food make up for the less than exceptional service.

This was the 4th brewery of the evening, so I can't remember which beers I tried here. I had a good calamari appetizer, but nothing about the beers stands out in my mind.

I'm surprised to see positive reviews of the beer here - makes me wonder if nothing but Butt Lite drinkers contribute to these reviews...
We stopped in for a beer and dinner. We ordered a beer first at the bar, and it was so bland that we decided not to try the food. We ordered a Nut Brown and an Oatmeal Stout. Both were devoid of flavor, as are many corporate "brewpubs" that cater to Butt Lite drinkers.
Go to the Breck up the street if you want a good beer.

I've been to the Denver Chophouse several times over the years, but this was the first opportunity to take my wife. It is a great place to demonstrate what an upscale brewpub is really like, especially after dragging your spouse to many places that are no more the pub grub/sports bar brewpubs. The Chophouse food is outstanding, well presented while offering substantial portions. Most dinner entrees are $20 or more, and include an impressive salad and tasty corn bread served in a skillet. As for the beer, a good variety of regulars and special beers is always available. On this most recent visit, I started with the brown ale, but eagerly switched to a brewmaster's special blackberry black lager. What a treat that was, with just a hint of berry tartness in a full flavored dark lager.

I ate here back in September of 2001. Waiting for the Coors Fields to open up. Wheat beer was pretty good, food was great. I enjoyed the service which was friendly and prompt. Enjoyable atmopshere, nice place to kick back and relaxed before the Rockies game.

I went in there with my family for the first time on Oct. 27, 2001 around 4:15pm. We sat in the bar and had beers and onion rings. I had to go up to the bar to get service. There was a waitress apparently but we never saw her. The beer & onion rings were good but the service was non-existent and when we did get it, came with a big side order of bad attitude. They can keep that. I can get beer and onion rings anywhere. I won't go back again.

Had the honey wheat. Great taste with the lemon wedge. It brought out all of the flavors. The nut brown was excellent.

An interesting and tasty Bourbon Stout, otherwise the beers are just solid performers. Incredible steaks. The presentation is almost as impressive as the taste. Portions are huge, so nobody leaves the place hungry. The servers are pleasant and helpful, but not overbearing. This is an upscale and trendy brewpub right outside Coors Field where people drop in to be seen. Just a warning... expect a dinner for two with a moderate sampling of the beers to run in the range of $60-$85.

Beers were very good with a good selection of styles. Very much liked the Amber. Brewers do a good job and make some very interesting specialty beers.Definately recomend drinking here and the food is unbelievable. Great brewpub!

Loved the ambiance and decor. A very nice place for a quiet, cozy meal with good beer and great food. The menu was outstanding and the portions large. Looking forward to returning again. Enjoyed the Red Wing despite the name and its Detroit connotation.

The only complaint I have about this place is that they actually have a beer called "Red Wing." I mean, this is Colorado, home of the Avalanche. Why name a beer after those guys from Detroit?
