Pasta sauce (red) was very strange; salad was soggy, bread was stale, sodas were watered down; service was good. Beer and burgers may also be good, but don't expect much more to be good o the menu.

No one's mentioned my favorites, which are standard fare on their menu: Anderson Valley Boont Amber on tap with a hot plate of the calimari strip appetizer - which comes with a spicy mayo sauce I can't get enough of. It's also fantastic as a condiment on the Pub Bacon Cheeseburger, which can't be beat.
They've got a good standard selection of brews (no Bud or Coors here!) with a seasonal selection of good California & out of state beers. The wait staff is really friendly and flirty and pretty forgiving if you change your mind on something. City Pub is an excellent place to tip back a few with your honey or your pals.

About 12 or 14 beers on tap, they rotate one every now and then, the rest pretty much stay the same; I've been going for about 6 months regularly and come to the conclusion that there really isn't any place else in Redwood City to drink a good beer. A couple of my favorite taps include the Lagunitas IPA, Pyramid Apricot and Black Butte Porter. I've gotten both friendly service here and service with an attitude; I let the PMS slide with a smile and reduced tip. I like the music they play and the general vibe of the place.

I've been going to City Pub for years and I can't say enough great things about the beer, food, and employees... try the crab cake sandwich, absolutely amazing....

Great selection of microbrews, great "California-style" pub food. You can get a turkey burger or even a veggie burger, but stick with the regular cheeseburger; it's the best in the area. Definitely try the Caribbean-spiced chicken sandwich. They also have crab cakes, pasta specials, etc. I love this place.
