hey, just surfing and getting ready for breakfast I suddenly thought of cornflakes and banana in o.j.--a specialty at Larry Blake's way back in 1946-1948, no booze served then as I remember, the era of Don Kalish, Sammy Tanenbaum who was always there,Ralph Phillips, Winkler, etc etc

Larry Blake's is a Berkeley icon. During freshman orientation in 1974, my parent's "escort" took them there for dinner. And it was Berkeley history even then! Seriously, Blake's has to date from the fifties at a minimum. Food is standard college fare - burgers, etc. and the beer is reasonably priced and fresh. I've taken friends there when I've been in town and have never been disappointed. It's the best place on Telegraph.
