They have about 100 beers. When Im craving a strange beer that I can't normally find, I go down to the Ginger man. Very relaxed atmosphere...more austin than dallas. The customers are even friendly. Food is random, some of its awesome, some of its okay.

What a wonderful purveyor of malted beverages! I have had the honor to visit the GM in NYC & Austin and can say that all the locations are consistent in great selections and good quality along with knowledgable staff. The Dallas location is in the Uptown District and is right on the McKinney Avenue Trolley. Not bad given that the pub is located in what appears to be a converted house with minimal parking - but then responsible beerophiles don't drink and drive anyway. Here are some of the choices I oppprtuned to quaff: Abbott Ale Pub Draught, New Belgium Fat Tire, Kostrizer Black Lager, Fuller's Porter, DeKonnick and a cask from St. Arnold's, which is a Houston area microbrew. Great Pub in the Big D.

German Bratwurst is the best. There is not a large selection, but what is there is good--mainly bar food. Beer selection is outstanding with a dark decor that reminds one of a pub in Ireland. Plenty of room outdoors on the cooler days with the occasional band playing. Bartenders seemed very knowledgeable. Plenty of Belgian Beers.

This is one of my regular haunts. It's true that the selection is tilted toward european imports, maybe 2-to-1 compared to US micros but compared to most any other bar in Dallas (with one notable exception) it's tough to beat the overall selection. Service has always been friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable.

I went there once. I loved it! I am from Louisiana and I wished there was one here. The only thing is that I tried to go in there once and they would not let me because I am not 21

I've consumed adult beverages on three continents and the Gingerman is one of the best ANYWHERE. The service is spotty depending on the crowd, which can be suffocating. But, what did you expect? As far as skunky beer .... I've never had a bad beer or been with anyone who complained .... and my friends and I drink real beer.

On our tour of the 5 Ginger Man pubs (NY, Connecticut, Dallas Austin & Houston) last week, this was the first boozer we visited in Texas, almost straight from the airport, a splendid establishment.

Reasonable place to go if all you want to do is drink from a selection of European beers. Domestic microbrew selection was disappointingly limited. Food is limited to a few very overpriced sandwiches. Based on how long it took to get beer/food, apparantly there was only one waitress for the entire establishment. Next time I'm in Dallas, I'll be drinking Scotch.

Like the Ginger Man in Austin, this is one of the best beer bars in the country. If you are in search of good beer in Dallas, forget the brewpubs and stick with The Ginger Man and the Flying Saucer in Addison.

This is a great place to drink beer. Lots of taps--and high quality brews, to boot. Bartenders were helpful in making selections, and the couch upstairs made for great atmosphere in which to enjoy great beer.

A wide selection of beers, all well kept. We usually had the proper glass with the beer. The only down side was a little too much smoke for our tastes, but hey, that is true in the best beer bars in Europe. The prices were less than our local multitap. This is a super place, and we will stop the next time we are in TX.

Ahhh, the Gingerman...the one in NYC is heaven, and the Dallas counterpart is very nice as well. Excellent beer selection, comfortable atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating and darts...great place.

Easily the best place in town to get beer. Not disgustingly smokey like the Flying Saucer. The selection is more limited in quantity, but still great. The help is fantastic. It is almost impossible to get a good beer in Dallas, so if you want the good stuff, go directly to the Gingerman.

No one goes here for the food, and the service varies from pretty good to pitiful. But the beer is plentiful and the scenery is outstanding.

Enjoy your favorite draw beer. Over 60 beers on tap by the pint, half yard or yard. Beer from every country. Nice place to sit under the shade trees out back in the beer garden.

Nice out of the place to hang out.
Try the pear cider for a switch.
Enjoy watching the Wings kick the Star's butts.

I agree with other positive reviews. This very rustic establishment offered over 65 beers on tap and a good number in bottles. I enjoyed a Bratwurst sandwhich while sampling new beers and watching the Stars kick butt.

Grab a menu, pick a country and a color - you're on your way. Never buy a pint unless you're drinking several different beers; the large beer is the best value. Best variety anywhere.

One of my all-time favorite bars. Great beer selection & atmosphere. Food selection is limited although the F&D Oyster House down the block is good. A haven is Dallas where there is little else!
