Here's the truth about d*ck's.

I went to Texas to see my brother who is in the air force. D*ck's was a couple of blocks away from our hotel, so we decided to have lunch at d*ck's.

We were seated,greeted by our waiter,and that's when the drama began. The waiter threw each menu at us (we were a party of 6). We couldn't believe it, we didn't know the reputation of d*ck's...we were surprised but thought it was funny. The waiter told us not to take it personal because "that how d*ck's manage it's restaurant". Okay...so we looked over the menu. I had a question about one of the meals, the waiter looked at me like I had two heads, walked away and never answered my question. Okay...so we ordered anyway. The server brought us our drinks. We asked for straws. He never brought it to us. So my father asked a second time and the waiter said "straws are for gay men" we didn't find his comment funny at all.. He walked away, and I was uptight that he had made such a thoughtless comment. So I called him over and asked for straws again. He walked away and brought us back coffee straws (the little red stir straws). Hahaha, funny but I told him we really wanted regular straws. So believe it or not, the waiter came back with about 50 straws and threw it at us. It struck my brother and myself in the face. I was so mad, I got up and screamed at him, and asked him, how is throwing straws in someone's face funny. And he said, I always throw things. So I said how would you like it if I threw something at you. He didn't say a word, I'm guessing he was in shock that I was so upset – see, he's used to treating people this way and he's never reprimanded for it. So we left without paying and went to saltgrass, (couple of blocks away) where the server's were polite, and the food was amazing.

If you like to be degraded or if you think being disrespected is funny, then this is the place for you. I have a sense of humor, but his actions were not funny at all. I’m from New York, and in New York we don’t take being disrespected lightly. D*ck’s better watch it, because they are going to do that to the wrong person – and guaranteed the waiters will think twice of being rude.

D*ck's gave us a horrible experience - but it's okay, because there are so many other great restaurant's along the riverwalk.

Had a conference and went to Dick's everynight for some beer, whiskey, and food. The best people work there. I never laughed so much in my life. The food was very good. Go for the crabby balls. Made fresh everyday. Thanks for a great time. I will be back. Rod

Friends of mine told me they saw David Copperfield go into the Dick's in San Antonio with his girlfriend. How awesome the see them there. I wish I would've seen them. That just shows Dick's food is the bomb.

The atmosphere was nice and the wait staff is cool and comfortable but the prices were some of the most expensive we ran into in San Antonio.

The first night, I wasn't too thrilled, but the second night we had a blast. This is the kind of place where you would want to go with a group of people. Beware of the paper hats!!!! P.S.- if you can't take a joke or the throwing of napkins, then get the @#$% out of this bar!!!!!

Goin in i thought id like the concept of this place, where i could just do whatever, but coming out i realize im VERY southern at heart, and i WANT people to be polite and serve me with a smile on their face. Also, the joking was a bit one-sided for one of our waiters.. he'd bust your balls all day long, but when it got turned around on him... i thought he was gonna cry, cuz he actually got all mad and huffy and WOULD NOT serve us the rest of the night. Didnt like it, wont return.. I'll take my Coke and a Smile anyday....
