Nothing like the orginal. Very ungracious establishment. They don't appreciate their customers. Food is pretty good. Without the beer the place would be a big nothing. Consistantly poor service and always under staffed at the expense of the patrons.

Of course the beer is great. Hopefully they'll bottle it and sell it at stores. Also, they have really interesting live music on the weekends. Ive seen some great bands there.

Opened July 4th. Won't be serving their beer until fall. Great selection of micro's on tap currently.
Cool place...great beer garden.
Now, there's finally a good microbrewery in Barrington!

Don't let some of the "great" fool you into believing this is a brewpub - that will happen in late Aug or Sep, 1999.
I couldn't find the address on Yahoo maps so I used Mapquest. The map showed "Buckley Road" or something like that but on the North side of 14, it's Pepper Rd that you want.
Anyway, it's a nice small brewery that makes really good beer. I've had the Pale Ale before and it's good as usual and the stout was also very good. The brewers took time out of their day to talk and serve us beer and give a tour.
Can't wait for the brewpub!

It's definitely worth your while if you can find this little brewery in Barrington. Although you can find Wild Onion on tap in several Chicagoland bars and restaurants, a trip to the brewery is a real experience. You'll leave feeling as though you are part of their brewing family. I agree with the other reviews - the Paddy Pale Ale is outstanding.

I tried Wild Onion Beer for the first time last night and it was awesome! My thank you goes out to both Mike and Scott, who have given me a grand tour!

The name Wild Onion takes its name from early Chicago. Early settlers called the area "Checagou"- where wild onions grow. One of the best pale ales out there!
