When in Rome.... So I had 2 Pilsner Urquels, at 2 bucks a pop on the happy hour special! The burger was ok, the wings were popular but I didn't try them. The bartender (Jenn) was knowlegable and friendly, and knew what glassware to use for each beer. Great spot, didn't go upstairs.

If anyone who reads this can give my web address to LUPE or FERGIE i'd love to talk to them. We're having a KEGGER at our new housewhen we're finished. Probibly in March. Come on out for it. Lots of great skiing over Spring break. Get a hold of me!!! rkeely@greelyschools.org Believe it or not, I'm a High school sped. teacher.

I graduated in 1986 and not much has changed at either Waldo's or The Pilsen Club. I enjoy visiting and seeing a lot of the same decor I did when I attended WMU. Really a great college bar and one of the few places alumni can visit and feel like their back in their college days.

This place is the classic college bar. Beer, a hot female sportswaitstaff, sports, and great mixed drink. How can you go wrong?

Hundreds of beers from all over the world. You can't leave without doing a shot of their homemade pepper vodka with a pickle. If it wasn't downstairs from the worst bar in Kalamazoo, this place would be the best bar around....but alas, it's attached to Waldo's. It's cool, but don't even bother going on a Friday or Saturday night unless you want to be annoyed by loud tables full of Bud-Light drinkers.

This is what I miss most about Kalamazoo. Many folks say they miss Bell's Beer the most, but I'm in Grand Rapids, so I can still buy Bell's at stores. But there's no place in GR that's quite like the Pilsen Klub. My only complaint is that it often becomes primarily a college-student hangout. This is fine if it's the academic-types, but most of them are simply the get-drunk types. However, there are many other folks from the community that frequent this fine establishment. Go on a weeknight and it's a great establishment. This is the bar where, in college, my best friend introduced me to the fine art of enjoying fine beers. They have a selection of at least 70 or 80 microbrews and imports, and they offer, for the most part, only the highest quality brews available. If I lived in Kalamazoo again, I'm sure I would frequent this establishment once more.
