They have the worst food in Lawrence, however, the beer makes up for it. Oh, and the TVs are a joke too, 27 inches and way up by the ceiling. Don't come here for a game.

This place has the absolute WORST service in all of Kansas. Even when a complaint was made, the manager dismissed it and and continued to lean against the wall. The have the best building for a sportsbar, but the worst possible people and customer service imaginable.

Good place with some darn good beer (pardon my language). The brewer there is very charming, he's also funny, intelligent, witty and some would say he looks a little bit like a young Mel Gibson. Emerson's has probably the best hamburgers in the entire Lawrence metro area (yes this includes Ozwakie) Five house beers include Stout, American style Lager, Amber Ale, Wheat and a Raspberry Wheat(ugh). Two rotating seasonals, which right now consist of a Scotch Ale and an IPA. Did I mention that the brewer has rock hard abs and buns of steel? He's also looking for an assistant, the only requirement is that you be a hot chick.
-5 house beers with 2 rotating seasonals.

The beer at this place is very good. it is much more pedestrian than most craft beers. But it is very clean and drinkable.

Don't let the lame name fool you, the 5 house beers were all quite good, and 7 guest taps round out the variety. The entry level lager was good for the American style. Stout was not robust from the nitro tap, but would be a good session beer. The American wheat, grown with local Kansas grain, was very good. Rasberry version was not, the tartness and bitterness clashed. All beers had good color and balance.

I recommend that visitors avoid the 'Golden Glove' ale--it is rather undistinguished, but all other beers are excellent.
