We always stop in here when we are in Houghton and eat as the food is fantastic. The atmosphere is great and so are the people that work there. The beer is not bad but it’s nothing special and the food is a little pricy but it’s worth it.

Their Miner's IPA rivals Huma Lupa Licious, and their Porter rivals Darkhorse. Great place. Agreed, service could have been better, but you can tell it's a home-grown operation.

The Library is one of my favorite places to go in Houghton. For the Upper Peninsula, it's a great place to visit and I've spent many afternoons and evenings here in between hockey games at the Dee. I was just here and visited on a Friday night and a Saturday afternoon. The Beer: Whiteout wheat and the IPA are solid choices and good quality beer. The Dunkelweizen was undrinkable. Not at all true to style, and smelled and tasted like solid alcohol. Also had the Bock - that was OK and a nice change. Food: Lots of selection, pricey for the U.P. Wife not impressed with her Caesar Salad. My steak was quite tasty.

The beer here is decent but not outstanding. We did find prices were high but the salad bar was good. I was not impressed with their soups.

This is a great place to go with a date for a nice meal out. Our waitress was very good giving us the attention we needed and left us alone while we ate. We had the ravioli and an order of cheese bread both very good. We ordered a sampler that included 10 beers, a wheat, a golden ale, a light ale, a premium lager, a rye ale, a pale ale, an IPA, a brown ale, a java stout, and a dry stout. I am far from a fan of light ales, but their light ale was very good as well as the dry stout, IPA, and the brown ale. Their beers are all very good to great and they have a complete control of their brewhouse. A very nice place to go.

I recently had a chance to visit tye U. P. I added three microbreweries to my list of sites visited in Michigan. The Library in Houghton not only gave me a chance to try some of thir microbrews but also suoolied an excellent dinner for my wife and myself. The view of the ship canal was icing on the cake for the evening.

By far this is the best brewpub in the U.P. They had 9 beers on tap. 4 blonde beers: wheat, golden, light, and an excellent lager. 5 darker beers: pale, IPA, tripel, brown, and stout. The IPA and tripel were very good. Did not eat, but have had the food before and it is very good. I must of went to a different place than the previous reviewer since our reviews are so different.

This is a great restaurant, their beer definitely isn't the best microbrewery, but I think they ae aware of that and that is why they also have guest taps such as Bells Oberon. The food and beer is a bit pricey but it is very good.

This is as good as it gets in the U.P.! All the beers are at least good, and the stout and IPA are outstanding and would stand up to any in a larger metropolitan area. It has a nice view with a genuine library sort of theme, particularly in the bar area. My wife and I were staying at a cottage 50 miles away....this place was well worth the journey!

How can you beat the location? With a pint of the Shafthouse Stout and a nice cigar it was easy to forget the rigors of the day to day rush. I can't wait to return.

Yes indeed, Pete, it's a nice place with a good view of the bay. Service, beer, and food were really good. Had a hihgly hoppped IPA and a cream ale. The cajun marlin was a scorcher! Don't miss if this if you're in the Keweenaw.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The pale was nicely hopped. Nice location in downtown Houghton. I hope the yoopers keep this one in business.

An average brewpub at best. While the beer was good, nothing stood out as outstanding. A great atmosphere and the food was good, but better beer can be found in Escanab, if you're willing to make the drive.
