It's my local bar, so I'm probably biased, but it's one of the best places around. Always something interesting going on, friendly staff, and some very dodgy sofas. Not really for posers though.

hey south side scully... if your gonna be a self proclaimed beer expert read a book or something and learn of what you speak, it's impossible for a draft beer to be "totally skunked"... allways the favorite buzzword of the rookies.

Must say I was a bit disappointed by the tap selection, given Quenchers' reputation as one of the best beer bars in town. Their bottle selection was considerably more impressive. Still, said selection is matched or beat by other well-regarded beer bars such as nearby Map Room and The Hop Leaf uptown, both of which have better tap selections as well. I liked it enough to enjoy my stay but not enough to go back, especially when my cross-town trip would be better rewarded by going to the Maproom instead.

Well, I can scratch this place of my list for good beer selection. Sure they had an impressive list but I can't trust them now after trying Robert the Bruce and Bourbon County Stout on tap. They were both way out of date and totally skunked. Looks like the bottle selection is fading away too. Then they poured straight chlorine on the washroom floor and almost blinded me. Looks like this place is shifting away from beer and into live music. Let's try to be a little more honest about then.

Emmett Yung is one of the best bartenders that I have ever had the pleasure of being serviced by. They say that great service can make up for a mediocre product but at Quencher's you get both service and a great product. Their beer selection is impressive and everything I tried was fresh and served correctly. I will definitely be back for a night of darts and great beer. By the way, thanks to Earl Johnson (owner)for finding my camera!

Quencher's is definitely the place to go in Chicago to get your choice of bottled international beer. Good selection of draft beers as well. Nothing fancy, but no B.S. either.

Low key place. Emphasis is on beer, not decor. 12+ on tap that are changed regularly, including seasonals (e.g. Bock-fest). Many more available in bottles. Annual "Walk to Wrigley Field" pubcrawl held each spring.
