Nice patio, expensive food, so so beer. As with the rest of town the IPA's are not very hopped up.

I cannot help but echo parts of the previous reviews. Dockside's outside patio overlooking downtown Vancouver on a sunny afternoon in late August made for a great lunch spot. The beers we tried were decent but not outstanding. My favorite was Pelican Bay Brown Ale, followed by Old Bridge Dark Lager and Johnston Pilsener. A beer sampler comes in a wooden holder with sampler glasses of six different brews.

The outdoor patio and food are the winners here. Aside from the interesting Jamacian Lager, the beers are fairly bland and similar to each other. It's a very nice place for luch or dinner, but not worth a stop just for the beer.

The food was good but a little pricy and beer were fair. It's part of a hotel, but they have a nice outside area by the water that's great on a nice day. The Pale Ale was good, but I didn't care for the brown as much, and if I had others they were not very memorable. Parking was not too difficult in the evening when the market closed.

Good place to slip away to on Granville Island once you've had your fill of shopping. The beers in general were not-so-risky lager oriented. But they were all clean & quaffable. The Jamacain lager is the one to make sure and try ... Some form of plant adjunct that gives it a very unique flavor and rose color. Vancouver area in general isn't part of the whole epic northwest style brewing culture. With that in mind, this one's worth a try if you can find parking.

They only had five of their beers on tap during our visit. We tried two of them, the Porter and the Jamacian Lager. The Porter was so-so being a little sweet and with conflicting flavors. But the Jamacian Lager, that is a very good beer. Wonderful aroma with a short dry finish. Service was good, especially considering the place was full of private parties for Xmas.

Sat and talked to the brewmaster while drinking his winter beer. Nice guy from Germany, so being from Germany you know the beer will take on the traditional German style. The winter brew was the only beer I tried, it was that good. TJ the bartender was very nice and the view from the bar exceptional. A little out of the way, but you must find.

Located on one end of Granville Island in the Hotel, this proved to be one of the best brewpub experiences in Vancouver. Six beers were being poured during my visit and while I lost my notes (an avocational hazard, you understand) I recall that all but one was well above average. The food was excellent, including a wood fired pizza, an innovative salad, and a salmon pasta. This was a very nice place to relax on a patio with a great view, great food, and very good beer.

A really nice place with very good beer. Setting is in Granville Island Hotel, overlooking dining patio and main city across an inlet. Beers ranged from dark to light and all were well made, esp. the porter and Czech 12. To see this place, and others, take a look at my pix at http://NWBrewpubs.homestead.com

Good selection of beers from Pilsner to porter. I tried the Pilsner, ESB, and porter, and they were all good. Great food too. They have wood fired ovens and a rotisserie. A bit expensive, but worth it. Nice view of downtown looking across False Creek. Lots of outdoor dining space on their patio to enjoy the view.
