The wait staff are the worst, ever! They are pretty much idiots, they dont pay attention, the guy with the beard is so off his rocker he lets food sit and I had to go and get it myself. The Dubliner was great last year with Keith and Lauren, but now its ruined, Tom and Jason have run it to the ground....They need to sell it and get new managmenet and new staff.

If you enjoy rude wait staff and hassles then by all means drop into the Dubliner. You will be assured of a being insulted and start your evening on a real down turn. We were a party of three. We ordered the Garlic and cheese fries and Salsa with corn chips, a draft beer, a glass of Chardonnay and a Sharps Beer. On reflection, the fries were excellent the beer could have been colder and the corn chips were greasy. After about 20 minutes the waitress informed us she was going off shift and we had to pay our bill. My sister was a bit peeved on the inconvenience. The request was a bit odd but it happens occasionally but I have never seen such a request on such a small bill, so I paid and gave the waitress what turned out to be a 30% tip, I guess that was not enough or the waitress did not like my sisters reaction to her demand. I ordered another beer and Chardonnay and were told by the new waitress that we were cut off by the first waitress. All I wanted was out of the Dubliner and we left. So if you like this type of an ungracious start to an evening, then go the Dubliner.

Stopped in town to attend a hockey game and have lunch here on a Sunday. Guinness was good (and poured properly) but other selections weren't fresh. Bartenders were friendly and overall atmosphere nice. I'd go back again.

Even though I selected "good" for all individual items, I give an overall rating of Great, because on a recent Friday visit heard some of the best Acoustic duo music, basically, EVER. And we don't need 150 different beers to choose from - they have a good range of fresh tap selections and bottles. Haven't tried the food yet - next time. Which I'm sure will be another Great time.

"The Dub" is a Lowell institution. Thursday night with Captain Morgan and the Rumrunners is most probably the highlight of the Lowell Nitelife scene. The set up of the bar needs to be altered for better flow. This bar pours one of the Best pints of Guinness around. The food is standard pub fair but is priced VERY reasonably. Stop by the Dub on a Thursday for the Cap'n Morgan show. Or on Mondays in the winter to meet your favorite Lowell Lock Monster.

This place like many of the places in Lowell is O.K. Its Beer selection is nothing special, and the service S__ks, but the food is great and the live Bands are a good time. I don't recommend the "Dub" in regards to beer selection. A good place to go is Smithwicks!

Not too bad but a bit cramped. Not so much crowded but a lousy setup. But still a good time.

We loved the ambiance of the place. Affectionately called "the Dub" it's a great place to eat, drink, meet friends and enjoy the entertainment (be sure to check out "Take Two", our favorite acoustic guitar duo).
