The beer at TBonz is usually pretty good and what kind they have on tap can vary. Yes, the do have on tap other beers like Bud Light, but Charleston can be a finicky market and I'm sure TBonz does this to please everybody and would likely serve only their microbrewed beer if the market would support it. My advice when trying their beer is to ask for a taste first before committing to a glass or pitcher. Not sure why, but their beer quality can vary from keg to keg. I'm not complaining if they're making a decent effort. The management has always been receptive to comments. The food is pretty good too. NOTE: the Mt Pleasant location has closed & will reopen (in same building) in late summer/early fall 2008 as Liberty Tap Room with many beers on tap.

Place was very busy, However, brewpubs that serve Bud Light et al, already have one strike against them with me. Nut Brown was drinkable, that's all, Market St Wheat was lame, seasonal Winterfest was OK. Food is OK, as is the service

stopped in or a appetizer and some beer while shopping. The food was very good but after having the smpler I could only pick the octorberfest as one I'd like...The red was okay but not what i'd hoped. Seems that the beers are brewed by the other Myrtle beach comapny. Sit outside on the patio and enjoy the day!

My husband & I are mug club members & really like their beer. Some of the kegs end up tasting different so you might ask for a taste before committing to a glass. There's usually a seasonal on tap & worth trying. The red ale & the IPA are my faves. Errol & Julie, two of the bartenders at the Mt Pleasant location are lots of fun. 1/2 price appetizers during happy hour at the bar! We make a meal out of the apps when we go. Not a trendy spot, a very comfortable bar with all ages & kinds of people.

Nice place in a great city. Liked the "old" feel of it right on the Market. Beer was second rate to the food. Service was fine until a table of 13 golfers (go figure) showed up, then went downhill quickly. We were told the reason we didn't get any bread was that they were short of it that day. This just after the 13 golfers got at least two loaves. Not good.

Great food and Great Beer! You'll find freshness at TBonz. I'm also a member of the Mug Club and I highly recommend every joining the Mug Club. You can't beat TBonz. I hope that one day there will be more TBonz opening further North as well.

I've been a fan of T-Bonz since 1993, and visit whenever in Charleston or Myrtle Beach. The shrimp salad sandwich and raspberry beer are tops. I recommend either T-Bonz or Liberty Steakhouse & Brew Pub when near both (there are T-Bonz in Myrtle Beach; Liberty's in Myrtle Beach and High Point, N.C.) The food has always been great (taste and value) at both. The service at both restaurants is top notch, and the food is worth the wait.

Feels like my brewpub from my hometown. Mike, the bartender at night is one of the nicest person you will ever meet. He is non-stop and wide open all of the time. The beer selection is good. I really like the wheat beer, and the nitrogen drawn IPA. I visit Charleston once a month and I ALWAYS visit T-Bones...a friendly Cheers-like restaurant.

The overall rating is due to location. It's right in the Market. We went for lunch. My wife had the Raspberry Wheat, which was not bad. I had the Red (very bland) and the Stout (not bad). Very good service, when my glass was almost empty our waiter was there to offer another. Worth going to.

Beers were nothing special, and my tuna was so overcooked that it was not enjoyable even after asking for it medium, steaks are nothing special. I will probably give the one in Mt Pleasant a try to see if it's location.

Great location in Charleston's old market. Check out Kaminsky's Most Excellent Cafe (next door) for great desserts, too. Food and atmosphere here are very good. Beer was nothing spectacular - I got a sampler, and they all tasted very much alike. Service was very good. Altogether, this place is decent. Mediocre beer quality is bearable because atmosphere, location, and service are good. Not bad, and worth checking out for lunch or something.

Only brewery is the Mt. Pleasant location, but they distribute (through a contract brewery - Palmetto) to the various restaurants. Beers are fair, but the food is a (slight) cut above standard old pub food. The store on the Market is ALWAYS crowded (expect an hour wait on a Tuesday in January), but the others are sane. Porter is the ticket. Run by a very philanthropic and restaurant-savvy Bhuddist.
