Enough beer styles, just none that I could drink. They all tasted toxic to me,{some quality control please.} The dining rooms were congested and noisy. Staff was friendly and knowledgable, but I like beer and I would be hard-pressed to go back to this place.

Favoring hopsy ales, Rock Bottom does not offer a strong entry here. However, their pale ale is satisfying and their food is above average. They offer a cask conditioned ale, which is always alluring to any true beer lover. And my wife enjoys the light lager they offer. If you like Rock Bottom and feel you will come back, there is simply no reason not to join their beer club- nothing to lose and more beer for your dollar to gain.

Went here as part of a group of 10 and they forgot about us for 20 minutes after seating us. Seriously, the guy even said so. The beer was very good though. They even had a light beer that I'm sure the non beer snobs could appreciate. The pale ale was a little week (almost a bit watered down) but they got it right with the IPA. I will definately go back next time in town.

Worst food I've ever had. after waiting 1h45m my Med.Rare Steak was Well Done and so dry I polished off my beer trying to take a few bites. The suace that was on the steak had a skin on it and looked like the food was forgoten about for a good half hour. I ordered an 8oz steak and my friend ordered an 16oz... they were both the exact same size. I had more green beans on my plate than steak and potatoes combined. I refused to pay for the meal after only taking a few bites and I told the waitress she needed to tell the cook to add more water to his instant potatoes next time and maybe the garlic potatoes should have at least a slight amount of garlic in them. I couldn't believe the meal was supposed to be $19.99. The beer isn't bad but isn't anything special either. I would personally rate the Racoon Red as their best brew. I've dined here a few times before and was never too impressed but I was also never disappointed until this last time. As I was leaving I really felt I hit 'Rock Bottom'. Can't get them for false advertisement.

Reliable beer and food is Rock Bottom. They had a dark lager and a Dubbel as seasonals. Also the usual light, amber, stout, and pale. Tried both seasonals. Good dark but mostly unremarkable. It was smooth and drinkable and not an often seen brewpub beer. The dubbel was also average. I thought it should have been bigger, chewier like grimbergen. It did not have the strength I was anticipating. The pale was also tried and again is reliable and average. Food was good (chicken chipotle pizza) nice barbeque flavor and a little spicy-could have een spicier and smokier. The barman was great. I asked his opinion on a menu item and he actually did not recommend it. Typical RB average and reliable.

I have found this place to be weak. I have ONLY had luck in the Denver Brewery. Service/Food/Beer in EVERY other Rockbottom I have been in has ranged from So-So to Lousy. I have been to the Milwaukee brewery 4 times. I've sworn the place off, hard to do when you like beer.

In as much as I liked Rock Bottom 2 years ago in Denver, I disliked this one in Downtown Milwaukee. The boiled (ugh!) rack of ribs were of the cheap variety (not baby back), were BURNED, and then drenched in nearly inedible very sweet & spicy sauce. The shoestring fries were undercooked. The cole slaw (probably not made by them) was good. The beer was unimpressive, as the IPA was light on the IBU's. They also had the usual: Light, Wheat, Red, Pale, Lager. Zzzzzzz. I've heard that Rock Bottom is not collectively owned, but has different owners, brewmasters, etc, so this experience will not deter me from going to an R.B. in another town.

My husband & I both liked the Greenfield while visiting Milwaukee. The food was plentiful and delicious. The service was exceptional both evenings we were there. I would definitely visit again.

The food has been great every time and the prices are reasonable considering the location. Sitting outdoors in the summertime is wonderful. All the people that we've taken here have been very pleased and have returned.

I don't know why I keep going to various Rock Bottoms, they all seem to live up (down?) to their name. This place had one beer(the red) that really nailed the style. The rest were either uneven or just plain not representative of the style. Food at this place was so-so and was priced more like a Chicago place than a Milwaukee place. At least the Chicago location redeems its mediocre beer with good food. The hostess refused to sit us outside, citing it was full. She seemed unmoved when we pointed out that there were 4 empty tables and no line of people waiting to be seated. I won't be back at this place; I wouldn't have eaten here at all if it weren't the only promising beer joint in downtown Milwaukee open on a Sunday evening.

I have never been hear yet but while checking the web sight hoping to see photos of the inside or the outside river seating all I found was the same photos that are on all of the locations web sights. This tells me there is no regional connection. Just another chain restaurant. I was hoping to find a different place to take some out of town guest.

Outstanding outdoor patio atmosphere. The Jumbilaya was "Wisconsin Spicy" according to the waitress, very delicious and flavorable. Stuck with the Racoon Red the whole time there, was a bit flat with a sharp carmelized taste. The girls all said the Brown Bear Ale was "good", but the expert of the bunch didnt give it much praise.
Go for the food and the atmosphere(both outstanding!), but keep your posh desire for good beer at the door.

When in Milwaukee during the summer, we generally stop by Rock Bottom's outdoor patio for food and drinks. The appetizers and food are great, the beer is so-so. (Capital Brewery and all the brew pubs in Madison have much better quality beers) The outdoor ambience and food make a visit to Rock Bottom worth it.

The current specialty beers are very good. A Belgian Triple and a Scotch Ale. Both appropriate for the winter. Also the seared Ahi was great.

Nice place, right on the river, but the beer is generally mediocre. Probably shouldn't expect much from these chain's that emphasize their restaurant business over the brewery. The two Rockbottom's in the Chicago area had better beer.

Definitely a weak link in the Rock Bottom chain. (The one in Minneapolis is excellent.) The beers are non-discript and seem to be designed for the masses. I usually stop in once a year to see if things have improved. Although the food is good, the beer has never been anything more than mediocre.
