So So Good So So Lousy Lousy
Sports is about as obnoxious of a brewpub as you can get. I wouldn't give this shyte hole my business again if you paid for my tab. The service is surly and management doesn't give a damn about that fact. On the three separate occasions I was there (I am in the wyandotte area frequently for business) each time was a wholesale disappointment.

First visit - strong taste of what was apparently sanitizing fluid residue in the pint glasses. I was brought a replacement beer, took one taste, but it had the same problem ... so I asked "did you rinse the glass out?" ... no, she didn't. When I asked her to please re-pour with a rinsed glass (which by the way tasted fine once the glass was rinsed), I got charged for it as a second beer. On that same visit, the food arrived cold because it sat for a good 10 minutes before being brought over ... when I asked it to be dropped in the deep fryer again, the bartender announced loudly to the other patrons seated at the bar that I was "just full of complaints" ... Not what I'm there for, just reheat my goddamned food.

Second visit - couldn't get a seat and when I did I was immediately asked by a waitress to give it up for a party that had been waiting to sit at the bar ... turns out they were personal friends of hers. I finally left without getting a seat.

Third visit - brought an elderly female family member in her 80's who was actually physically pushed aside by a waitress (no apology, just pushed) ... when I complained the waitress told us she shouldn't have been standing there ... and the manager said "I didn't see it, I can't do anything about it".

Three strikes and they're out in my book. They are damn lucky to have such a prime location. The most tolerable beer was the stout and it was weak. The interior and seating is cramped and *not* comfortable (to my tastes) ... I think this is a place more directed toward the "kiddie" drinkers.

Go to RP McMurphy's a couple blocks over if you're in that neighborhood.

I enjoyed my visit to this place especially the food. The beer was a little on the flat side for me. I mean for the average Miller drinking person this would be an outstanding stop. A person just starting drinking other than national brews would have a great time here. Everything is good, but doesn't have that "Grab" ya type that you would remember. Friendly staff and the great food will bring me back again!

I have been to Sports several times and have never been disappointed. I like this place. Good food with a variety of choices. The beer can tend to be a little inconsistent at times. Sometimes outstanding, other times not as good. I did have a Pale Ale there recently that was excellent.

Best perch dinner my wife & I have ever had? We've tried 20 or so establishments Downriver and Monroe area. Too bad it's only served on Wed & Fri! The best shrimp is at Prush's.

Fun place to go to. Pretty typical burger and fries type place. People are generally friendly as is the case with many downriver places.

The beers were a little on the weak side, especially the IPA. But, they were drinkable. The food is cheap, basic bar food. The pink neon everywhere is too much for me, but I'm sure there's somebody out there who thinks it's great. Beer fans beware, there was lots of Butt Light being served.

All of the beer tasted the same with the exception of the stout. The nitrogen IPA tasted horrible and the rest of the beer tasted like weak koolaid. I would not recommend this place if you are looking of good tasting beer.

The beer is good, nothing that jumps out and grabs you, the stout was the best out of the sampler. We only had appetizers for food but they were good and all the food seems well priced.

Was just there last night. The microbrews are excellant. Truly loved the java stout and raspberry wheat. The monthly food specials are always good. Hope they are around a long time. Downriver has needed a dose of "something new" for a long time!

I had the IPA, which wasn't too well-balanced but was perfectly drinkable. Not worth a special trip but should be all right if you're in the area. This is the only brewpub downriver, and I suppose it could have been worse.
