Heavenly Daze is CLOSED as of 2.11.05, when I tried to visit. Sign in the window said the landlord would not renew their lease...

wow, what a bummer. this place was my all time favorite in denver. i get to the area once of twice a year and for the week that i am in the area, heavenly daze was the place that i would end every evening for the entire week. on my last visit, a friday night, they had a "rave" going on. not only do they hit you up for a cover, it was tough to enjoy their incredible backpacker ipa with the way too loud music. to top it off, the management seems intent on forcing the regulars out. i only stopped in for one beer and was about halfway done when the rave ended and some oversized guy that thinks way too much of himself told me to drink up and get out!!i must have had a surprised look on my face, not being part of the young, happening crowd that was there, but more fitting in the mature, older, white collar bracket. anyways, because i wasn't "chugging" my beer as the others were doing as instructed, this guy "snatches" my beer from my hand throws it in the trash can and threatens me with bodily harm. i asked to speak to the manager and the owner did come up to talk. she was very confrontational. now mind you, this was my first drink of the night and i wasnt looking for trouble, only a pleasant beer...wow, this place sure has changed...and not for the better, and definately not for the person who enjoys sampling the wares and supporting brewpubs. (to his credit, the bartender was very apologetic, friendly and offered to buy me a beer.) too bad, i really liked this place, but with breckenridge just up the street, and even though i dont enjoy their brews as much as hd, at least breckenridge makes you feel welcome and lets you know that they really want your business.

We ordered a Hemp Ale and had one sip and found a place to stash it. The atmosphere was open, bare, and the music was blaring. The did have a decent selection but we were so unimpressed that we didn't give them a second chance.

If you're into a noisey warehouse style eating/drinking establishment.. this is your place. There are much better choices for value and enjoyment for Pub Style eating and drinking in Denver.. I'd rate it an overall "D"

4/12/04 Visited Heavenly Daze during recent weekend visit to Colorado. Tried going to Wynkoop's, but due to Rockies Opening Day, there was NO place to park. Disappointed, we headed back towards Highlands Ranch. Along the way, we saw this place nestled among an industrial part of town.
The restaurant/brewpub is very large, almost small warehouse size. The restrooms were clean, which is generally a good size. Our waitstaff for this mid-day lunch was very attentive. First, the food was excellent. Very good portions and reasonable prices. Excellent presentation. The beer: I started off with the Backpacker IPA, it was excellent. Incredibly hoppy! Then, I tried the hemp ale. This was mediocre, and I think more of a stunt than anything. It was marginally better than Budweiser. Next up, and finally, was the Hefe-weizen. WOW!!! What an incredible way to leave. The clove and banana overtones were more than hints: very pronounced. I go to Munich every year (for Oktoberfest), by far, this is one of the BEST hefe-weizens I have ever had. Anywhere. Kudos to Carl.

I wanted to update my prior post on the Heavenly Daze; I've had the beer on numerous visits but not tried their menu offerings. I was there with my son and one of his friends; I had the chef's salad which was both generous and good; the boys had sandwiches which met their approval by virtue of the emptiness of the plates by the end of our meal. Only one disappointment; I'd ordered a pint of HD's seasonal ESB off of their beer list only to be told that it was not available. I had one of their Backpacker IPA's instead which is always excellent. I was also encouraged to see that on the time of our visit, a Friday night, the place was packed. May they prosper.

Had 3 beers: IPA-extremely hoppy, good head/legs, well done. Served a little cold for my taste.
ESP-well balanced, a little thin, very drinkable
Brown: High ABV, well done
Food: Calzone-OK but not great. Lots of it though.

The IPA was great - good and hoppy. I also tried the Scotch Ale and the amber, which were both decent beers. I had built up quite a thirst just trying to find the place, but it was well worth it. Any place with the slogan "F*@K Milk-Drink Beer" is OK with me.

I stopped by the Daze recently, which has reopened under new management since my prior visit. I found a good offering of well executed beers. The "Backpack IPA" is worth several pints by itself. The "Olympic" is a great one, too...a full bodied, yet hoppy concoction that comes in at 9% alcohol content, so watch your consumption on that one. They also had a few "guest" beers available. I'll certainly return to this place for more brews and to check out the menu offerings.

I thought the beer quality was great. Unusual selection of house beers. Neat atmosphere...nice locals. Stop at Brekenridge down the road!

Not sure exactly when it closed, but has been closed at least 2 months. They are rumors that it may reopen. Telephone number is disconnected.

Good news, Heavenly Daze has reopened under new management. The beer seemed just a little off from what I remember last December, but the atmosphere is still fun.

The IPA was really good--way above average. And the brown ale and Scottish ales were tasty. And finally, the porter was excellent. As far as the bar food, sandwiches and extra salad were top notch. Try dipping your sandwich in some of their own beer mustard. It was great. Clean place, off the beaten path, not phoney.

A well balanced selection of ales, the Scottish Ale was excellent. The food selection was very good for a brewpub.

Great place to catch the Broncos on TV, that is if you don't mind waiting for your orders to arrive before the end of the game.
