I love Ian. I love all the waiters, the food, atmosphere, and especially the owl & Thistle Band. I love the jams agreat deal. But, my favorite event at the O&T is wheen Danny Godinez comes to play. I saw him three years ago at the O&T and am still so grateful that DG was there that night. I enjoy watching him play as much as I love Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Louis Armsttrong and so on and so!!!!!!!! Bring Danny BACK PLEASE!!! And, Ian, you are one of the BEST perrsons alive!!!

Good Good Good Good Good
My husband and I were attacked by "a regular" in this establishment last night. It was a Monday and our day off so we decided to go out to have a few shots and play some pool. We have been coming to the Owl and thistle for three years now. It's not the nicest place but the staff knows our names and they are nice to us. This guy at the bar starts calling me the b-word and just being really mean to me for no reason. I thought talking to people and socializing is ok when drinking at a bar. So, my husband and I decide to leave. I left and then realized I didn't have my sweater, which is still missing. We walk inside to look around and the guy attacks my husband, rips his shirt and then we get kicked out. WHAT? Standard practice when there has been a fight is to kick both parties out. He is still sitting at the bar, drinking his beer? We were treated terribly. We were treated like we had attacked him. Ridiculous. I will never give another dime to these people. I no longer feel safe in The Owl and Thistle. This drunk guy should have been cut off a long time ago. Instead, WE were disrespected, I was called names, my husband was attacked and thrown to the ground, the drunk guy ripped his shirt, I was unable to get my belongings and then we were kicked out with no support from the employees who I thought would see the situation fairly. Terrible experience, I don't recommend anyone going to this bar. If you do, watch your back.

Pros: Used to be able to relax and have a good time.

Cons: If you are "a regular" you'll get the service you deserve.

Frat boys and kick-@zz steak fries. No better place to wait for your ferry to sail or, at night, meet pi phi pledges partying on their grand-sis' IDs. Usually some professional-grade beers cold and within reach.

The front of the establishment is a nice eating area, the back is more of a bar with a stage. It's all underground so its unique or strange, depending on your perspective. We were there around 5pm on friday so I can't give a complete review but the clients at that time were mostly older blue-coller guys having a after work brew. But things change as the hour grows late...

The overworked and undermanned servers do a great job of keeping people happy considering how many tables they usually have to track. The food is really good. try the Shepard's Pie or even the reasonably priced steak. Definitely low key pub style, forget the beer get a drink. It's a true pour, not for the faint of heart. If the waitresses have attitude they're only giving what they seem to get. So relax, enjoy the atmosphere and the free live music and have a good time

Great Good Great Lousy Great
The service is horrible yet it adds something to the surroundings. This is not the place for the yuppie client who insists on timely service. Just go up to the bar to get your beer and you will be fine-they also have real! darts instead of only the plastic tipped ones. Prices are reasonable so it is a great place to hang out often.
