Beer limited to their beer, Joey? Do you know what a brewpub is?

The parking is not good and will not get any better. The beer selection is limited to their own selection which is OK at best. The food is simply dreadful and their limited menu needs to be updated. They have been surpassed by every new restaurant in town who strives to be fresh and new. Eating outside on the busiest street corner in town is not appealing at all. The appetizers are mundane and trivial much like you would find at the big chains like TGIFriday’s and Applebees. The main courses are brutal with no selection, nothing different - unless you consider a platter with cheese and sausages to be “exciting”. The taste and preparation of the dishes is often sloppy and haphazard. Unless they make some serious changes, starting with the removal of their gregourious head chef, with whom run ins with customers have taken place in the restaurant, the place will most likely be bought out by a national chain and one day become a Chili’s or Ruby Tuesday, which, at this point would be a welcome change

Have not been to this Iron Hill Brewery but I visted the new one that just opened in Lancaster PA and the Hopzilla IPA was very tasty. Food was excellent for a microbrewery with good selection and quality. Service could have been better but the waitstaff was nice enough although not as attentive as I would have liked.

We visited Iron Hill in West Chester and in Delaware and loved both places. The decor was great, the servers were very knowledgeable about the beers offered. Food was great in both locations -- and although the beer was very good, I have to say that the food was more memorable.

First of all, the ambience is superb. Just an absolutely gorgeous environment which makes you feel right at home and encourages you to linger. Some variability in the brew quality, of course much depends on the individual taste of the partaker. Have to believe that everyone will be able to find a quality brew to their liking and some tasty eats in a relaxing atmosphere. Well worth the visit. In particular the Pig Iron Porter is always topshelf. And finally the Bourbon Barrel Stout (when available) is the most awesome brew you will ever quaff!! Brewed with a healthy dose of vanilla beans and aged in bourbon barrels the complexity and mouthfeel is out of this world. Best beer I have ever tasted in 30+ years of serious beerdrinking!!

Great place to stop in for quick lunch and a beer. Great selection of standard brewpub beer, as well as interesting beers. Not just an average brewpub! They get the balance of good food, and make great beer to boot. Worthwhile

Had 9 beers to sample on the night we visited including a cask conditioned version of one of their ales. None of the beers were outstanding though not bad with the exception of the lager and the raspberry wheat (very fake tasting). The food was excellent and their house bread the best. Our waitress was well informed on the beers and was a pleasant part of our evening.

I must agree that the beer leaves much to be desired. The porter tastes like someone took all the burned toast from every restaurant in town and used that for the grains. However, we had the Sunday brunch, which was wonderful. The blue crab omelet was outstanding. My husband had the eggs benedict, which he felt was one of the best he had ever eaten. I will say that they can make a mean Bloody Mary.

The beer quality at the West Chester Iron Hill is only marginally better than their Newark site. It is difficult to differentiate between the various styles on tap, & little to no mouth feel is evident. As another reviewer had suggested, the beer lacks malt & hops. I have always enjoyed the beer at the Media store, it’s quality stands heads & shoulders above the aforementioned locations. Instead of cloning the flavor profile between styles, they should clone the brewer at Media, & put him to work in West Chester (& Newark for that matter). Victory has a far superior product, & brews like Old Horizontal & Storm King definitely have mouth feel. If in the neighbor hood south of West Chester, Jon Harvards has some damn good beer as well.

Nice variety of beers. I just wish that the quality was better. The Brown ale on Cask was OK but I could not finish the Vienna Lager. This may explain why only about three of the twenty people at the bar were drinking beer while the rest were dinking wine and mixed drinks.

I had high hopes based on other reviews, but boy was I disappointed! My family visisted on a Saturday at about 3:00 PM. There was a sudden rush of customers, and the very young staff could not deal with it. Service continued to be lousy when we were finally seated. The beer all tasted similar, regardless of style, and was not very good -- some, such as the pumpkin ale and the stout was horrible.

Bad attitudes. Like they are the best in town but they are far from it. There are MANY good places in town as good or much better. Beer is a waste and most of the people I know told me the same. What's with all the college kids on Thursday nights..are things that bad you need to go after the college kids.

They cannot fill German style growlers (they don't have the necessary labeling) but GM David Anderson was very gracious in explaining and we got a brewery tour for our trouble.

Like that great wing T offense. Get real, Tubby was by far the most overrrated coach ever in college history. Got to love the Blue Hens, playing in the small wonder and land of tax free shopping.

If this place is like the one in Newark DE it must be excellent.
Hey Tubby impersonator, you don't even come close to the legendary Tubby Raymond, football coach. You do not offer anything constructive.

I stopped in at the Iron Hill about 2 weeks ago for lunch and a couple pints. I have always enjoyed the food at the Iron Hill, but never cared for their beer. I was extremely suprised at how good the beer was during my last visit. I had both pale ales and sampled their pumpkin harvest ale. I was impressed with both the pale ales and was shocked by how good the pumpkin ale was. It appears they have made some changes since my last visit several years ago. Keep up the good work.

I am so sick of this fraud Lew writing reviews. You have the worse taste in beer, and I bet you are a closet busch light drinker. It does not suprise me that you enjoy the Iron Hill. Wake up smell the irish moss and try some real beer.

Went over for the Brewer's Reserve last Friday: WHOA! Barleywine, Old Ale, and Wee Heavy (aged in a Jack Daniel barrel) were all thunderously awesome, the Pig Iron Porter was great (took a growler home for a party the next night and all agreed), but the best was the cask Anvil Ale, sharply spiced with a dry-hop addition of Tettnang (!), beautifully conditioned, and smooth as glass. The joint was packed on a Friday night, but the geeks were hanging in the brewery with all the Iron Hill brewers, Brian O'Reilly (Sly Fox), Scott Morrison (McKenzie), and Tony Forder and Jack Babbin of Ale Street News. A good time, and fantastic beer. Congratulations to Iron Hill for winning two MORE GABF medals, by the way: this is their sixth year in a row. Guess the beer's pretty good, despite some peoples' "opinions."

All the beers had no malt taste. The beer had no mouthfeel to them, they were very bitter with no hop falvor or smell. The food was not bad at all.
