The upstairs part has tons of bottled beer, and the downstairs part has tons of draft beer (and free peanuts). I've never really experienced the upstairs part because it's always teeming with uptowners, but I usually have a great time downstairs. The beer selection is vast, although it's dominated by mid to low-end beers. The beers are significantly overpriced, but they do have specials. I recommend going there on a Thursday night: 2-for-1 mixed drinks. You can establish a base and then end the night with a couple of good brews without breaking the bank. In the meantime, enjoy the peanuts, the foosball, and the people-watching.

Excellent selection, as they had 72 taps. That number includes several macros, but even discounting those there are a lot of beers you wouldn't normally expect to find in the Midwest. It's the kind of place you go to once, because the prices are ridiculously high. With tax, my pints were $5.50 each, and there were some selections over $6.

One of the first beer bars I ever visited; I was a novice then, about 6 years ago, and my best friend had just moved to Minneapolis. Though I lived in Chicago I had no beer-loving friends there at the tiem; didn't even know about the Map Room, Hopleaf, Quenchers or Delilahs. So this place was a revelation. Weird set-up, with the tap bar in the basement (70-80, most good but with some crap as well) and the bottles upstairs in the restaurant, which I've never eaten in. When I was there last I had a Lindemans Framboise and a La Trappe (De Koenigshoven) Tripel on tap, both great and served in the right glasses, though a bit too cool. Good service, and when I've been there usually not very crowded (afternoons, mostly). NOTE: to me it didn't seem that overpriced, as I'm used to E coast and Chicago prices; but its not cheap by Twin Cities standards thats for sure.

I like most of the people working there, but encountered (at separate times) the 2 owners and WHAT JERKS!! I'd not go back again simply because of their negative attitudes and general greedy nature. Too bad a nice place is owned by such losers.

Painfully overpriced but WOW what a lot of taps! Several beers that are generally difficult to find in the Twin Cities. Couldn't have a Beamish because they were out of nitrogen and the bartender was a real jerk about it. Extremely rude service.

Some beer is good others are old and taste poor. Extremely over-priced $6.25 per pint.

A fun place to hang in a group. Try both up and down stairs. Each has its own attitude.
