Implying, if not all out insisting on commenting on the sexual orientation of a waiter is out of line. If his performance was bad, which it obviously was, don't hesitate to detail it. Leave the screaming queen references out. It implies you have no business giving a review. Obvious bias is makes for a poor reviewer if not an ignorant human being.

Good beer selection, I think five regulars on tap and one seasonal, (I was hoping for the barleywine but it wasn't out yet) they may have had a cask conditioned but the waitress didn't mention it. The Red Ale and the Vienna Lager were very good but the Stout was awesome. Very creamy, sweet, great for dessert.
I liked the menu, typical fare but also several unique items. The pretzels with cheese is a great starter, and the steak sandwich was very tasty, potatoe pancakes intead of bread was an excellent idea.
The only negative points would be the kids menu was a bit pricey and the drink specials are only available in the loung area. I guess next time, I'll leave the kids a home and sit in the lounge. Enjoy!

I was a little disapointed having been to Grand Rapids brewing company (owned by the same company)
however, still not a bad place with decent beer and food. We had the wood-fired pizza, and Could have done more with the theme.

NIce atmosphere, reminds of any pub / brewery corporate concept. Food was old favorites with a few twists. Try the Mac and Cheese with truffle oil. Burgers are very good. Prices are reasonable. Two with a drink each should be about $35.00 - $45.00 for entres, drinks, tax and tip.

A fine establishment just off I-275 @ 7 Mile rd. about 10 miles west of Detroit. Upscale-looking, yet warm & relaxing, interior. Excellent food & drink menu at reasonable prices. There's something for everyone & anyone.

I went in on a tuesday evening and dissappointed to find they were out of the porter. I tried the bitter and the seasonal IPA. The IPA was flavorful but left almost no after taste. I did enjoy it's smooth finish more than I first thought I would.
This has an upscale feel but the prices are very reasonable. I will return to try the porter.

I'm replying to Mike R, Zionsville, IN's comment that the porter "was watery". The porter that they serve at bonfire won First place in the country at the real ale festivle in chicago. It was not watery, it was a medium bodied porter with a nice hoppy flavor. A very good beer.

Very upscale atmosphere, although it felt comfortable at lunch. I only tried two beers - their "seasonal" Dunkel-Weizen (average at best) and a decent Cask Red Ale. It might be just me, but I swear that my lunch (and my wife's) had a definite Gordon Food Service feel to it. On the positive side, the service was quite good - efficient without being obtrusive.

Has satellite music, but too low for atmosphere. Great IPA, Bitters, and Stout. Food above average, but prepared hit and miss: I sent an entree back twice, then left. Happy hour deals are great, very low number of smoking clientele for area. Let's get smoke free!!! Kill popups and nagware, idiot!

While it is a little trendy inside for me some of the beer is very good. They have two Cask ales. The Bitter on cask was outstanding. The other beers were solid. You know when a place has cask brew that they take is seroius. When you first walk in you think that the beer might be secondary. But it is not. Keep up the good work.

Porter and Seasonal Stout weren't that great. We all enjoyed our food. Service was slow until the restaurant picked up, then our waitress seemed to wake up. Great atmosphere and a good meeting place just off the highway!

This is a great restaurant to eat/drink at with friend(s). The service is spotty unfortunately, especially at the bar. You would think management would address that. I have been here many times and will be back again though, so maybe that's why service is the way it is. They have a great special when any local sports team is on TV. $2.50 pints and 25 cent wings (not expected in a fairly upscale restaurant like this.)

This is the brewpub closest to my house, so it is the one I go to the most often. I go there not for the beer, but for the food. The beer is probably the weakest link in an otherwise great restaurant. Most types pass my less-than-stringent "Is it better than Bud?" test, but just barely. One huge surprise was their seasonal Barley Wine which was nearly perfect (aided by a bartender who not once but twice poured full pints of the stuff instead of the smaller snifters. YUM!) My idea of heaven is the Pecan Walleye or the AppleJack Chicken with Grown-Up S'Mores for desert, and of course Barley Wine if they have it.

Beer enthusiasts! Always ask for what is being served cask conditioned! And ALWAYS have the Smoldering Coals Imperial Stout for dessert (cask conditioned). Any brewery that keeps two cask conditioned beers at all times gets my vote.
The food is good, selection is okay. service has improved markedly. They now understand that people sometimes come to a brewery to drink and then eat, so they don't rush you through everything.
Beer selection has improved - they added another to the regular list recently. They now have 5 beers on tap all the time, with at least one seasonal and one cask conditioned (in addition to the Imperial Stout).

I have gone to this place a few times now, and the beer and food are always good. I do have a problem with the service. I have gone and I have had horrable service and i have also had a server who acted like i was her only table. I would recomend go just to have the mashed potatoes.

Beer was nothing special, good selection but nothing that I just had to have more off. Food was good but diminished by poor service. Had to wait for everything, including beer, which at a brewery is unexcusable. Waiter had a hissy-fit when asked to take desert order and clear empties from sampler tray. His excuse of giving me time to make up my mind was weak at best. Folded menu and empty glasses should have tipped him off after the third prance by. Will maybe go back if in town again but will leave if he's my waitress

I suppose it says alot when a good third of the customers sitting at the bar were drinking martinis or other beverages instead of the beer. The porter I had looked like porter, but consistency was watery and taste reminded me of a lager.

The beer selection was OK, but the quality was horrible. I had 2 beers, and both had a sour, infected taste. On top of that, the beers tasted kind of watery with no real flavor. The service was terrible--slow and a long time to place and get an order.

We were there on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The beer was very good, with two cask conditioned, ale and stout. We tried their regular stout and pale ale, both were very good. Our waiter, Timothy, was excellent; friendly, knowledgeable and funny. This place is worth a stop.

This place is an absolute must!!! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The brews are awesome!! The sampler consisted of 8 brews. The Heffe was great as was the pale ale. The specialty brew was incredible!!! Also, one of the most flavorful lagers I have ever experienced at a brew-pub anywhere!! Nice upscale atmosphere but, far from snooty. If you order a dinner they give you a free pint!! How cool is that!!! They also offered a rich, wonderfully unique stout!! This is well worth the effort!! Enjoy!!

The food was exellent. Good sized portions. The beer selection was quite goog. Their IPA was very good, but the cask conditioned Scotch Ale had an isopropylish flavor. Not impressed with that particular brew. The rest is good. Prices are good for the type of business. Definately worth stopping in again.

Not run of the mill brew pub - its a bit more upscale. Beer is good, espesially the IPA, and the summer British Ale. Food is excellent - not your normal burger menu. My wife loves the mashed potatoes!

The beers have been improving. When they first opened they were kind of watery and not distinct as their flowing descriptions would lead you to believe. The food has been excellent and service good. Worth a stop - but it has a suburbia/chain restaurant feel to it.

A little more pricey and "upscale" than most other brewpubs. Beers were above average. I'm not generally a big fan of dark beers, but I found their Promethian Porter to be very good. Also liked the Vulcan Vienna Ale and Firelight Lager. The food is not bad, although as I mentioned, a little expensive.

This is much better than your run-of-the-mill suburban brewpub. The staff seemed proud of their beers, justifiably so. The only oinker was the "American corn & adjunct swill" which they ply on Bud lite drinkers. I thought the soup was very flavorful. Definitely worth going back.

Interesting use of smoked hardwoods for grilling. Sampler presented the typical selection, all pretty well made but no standouts. The cider was the real sleeper here -- they make their own from a recipe they bought. Too bad you can't get it in a growler. Kid friendly, tours offered. We will go back.

An interesting place in that the regular beers were OK, but the cask conditioned ales were incredible (usually not the case). The Imperial Stout and the IPA were among the tastiest beers that I have ever had. The food was very pricey given that it wasn't that flavorful, but I am pretty picky - a $20 entree should be flawless. My server was incredible - she seemed to know everything I needed at the instant that I needed it. Can't wait to get back for some more cask conditions.

This is a very new brewpub but the quality is already excellent. The bartender said that they are affiliated with Grizzly Peak in Ann Arbor. The two cask conditioned beers were the best. The bitter was very hoppy and smooth and the Imperial Stout had a "warm" alcohol feel in addition to the roasted flavor. The regular beers, from a good lager to an excellent porter and pale ale are also recommended. We only had soup and pizza to eat but both were good. To top it off the bar is right next to a Home Depot. Beer and a hardware store, what could be better?
