Walking in here is like walking into a time-warp back to the 1970's. A (big) pitcher of Lone Star is still less than $6, the decor is as old as the bar, the jukebopx has the best selection in Texas, and the bartenders are all, well, what do I say? Appropriate for the crowd.

Deep Eddy isn't really a PubCrawler-type of place, in the traditional sense. They don't carry a wide variety of beer. It is, however one of Austin's oldest beer joints and a WONDERFUL neighborhood bar with a great jukebox. If I lived closer I'd be there daily. A word to the traveller: Bring LOTS of ID. This place is notorious for checking identification and I've heard that they will not accept out-of-state IDs! (It seems that they want nothing to do with students or tourists. Which is another reason why it's such a great NEIGHBORHOOD bar.)
